They need elbow room...

Territorial fantasies by hawkish nationalists in the People's Liberation Army of China?
Until now, China's territorial claims on Japan have been limited to small uninhabited rocks. And that was enough to create tension between the world's second-biggest economy and the third-biggest.

But a new chorus of influential Chinese is raising the stakes. They argue that Japan is not entitled to one of its biggest islands, Okinawa, home to 1.4 million people and host to some of the biggest US military bases in the world.

Okinawa was an independent kingdom for centuries. Japan took it over in 1872, though its rule was interrupted when the US took it in World War II before returning it to Japan in 1972. China did not contest Japan's sovereignty over the island until 1970, and the issue has largely laid dormant since.

Suppose generals in our military started to dispute the claims to Newfoundland or Baja California. Wouldn't they be just as crazy? Our President would fire them right away...but Beijing is silent if not outright supportive of these 'rogue' claims.

Ya know, why in the world are we even thinking of selling our natural energy resources to these greedy, corrupt, nationalistic, militaristic, commie ingrates? Talk about cutting off our noses to spite our face, all for a profit. I say we keep our coal and natural gas here, no matter how much it hurts every energy company's bottom line, and start letting China go wanting for that precious fuel for their conquests.

Isn't it interesting that Kowtowing to the Chinese is bipartisan? It also seems to be pan national with most countries prostrating themselves before China for all sorts of supposed reasons- not the least of which is the possibility of having the biggest market in the world to sell to when China supposedly rises to take the USA's place?

At the same time, the Chinese are showing themselves to be unworthy of being top dog in every respect with having no respect for human rights/life or property of others. As soon as they see themselves capable of projecting power- even when it doesn't even EXIST yet, they threaten, bully and intimidate everyone around them.

What in fact exists at the moment within China is a toxic mix of arrogance, paranoia and extreme nationalism. A powder keg of unhappiness, fear and an increasingly restive population threatening to restart the counter revolution that nearly happened in 1989 with Tiananmen Square.

Corrupt "princelings" running a kleptocracy the size of which the world has never known until now- with a nationalistic military barely under control and a chip on its shoulder from national humiliation suffered at the hands of former invaders.

Is it a combination of fear and greed that makes world leaders bow before the Chinese?

Well, 10% of the population of China are descendants of Genghis Khan, maybe that explains it? :P

EDIT: They say 25% of the worlds population are direct descendants.

EDIT: LOL, He also slayed 25% of the worlds population at the time! Hmm, I think Genghis was killing off the world and replacing it with his progeny.

And that's the country birthed Sun Tzu, the ultimate smart warrior.

"The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting."

"Pretend inferiority and encourage his arrogance."

"In the practical art of war, the best thing of all is to take the enemy's country whole and intact; to shatter and destroy it is not so good."

Sun Tzu never had to deal with the likes of Japan and Germany during the 2nd world war.

Oh, but China finally got it's act together during the Korean and Vietnam Wars.
