Re: The 2013 Post your PC's and Workstations Thread
Is that a TV screen for a monitor? If so, how is the input latency on it? (If you can find the info at all, hard enough to find for a PC monitor and TVs tend to document it even less often.)
Re: The 2013 Post your PC's and Workstations Thread
where do i find such stuff? it IS a TV, specifically a Vizio M420SV LED Backlit 120Hz 42" TV. im running it on straight HDMI with Audio disabled and being rendered by a F@T@L!TY Champion Recon3D PCI-E Sound Card.
with the card i have pushing it, i can run anything in 1080 and hit a easy 60FPS. BF3 is a perfect example, i NEVER drop below 40-45 FPS with heavy rendering going on, and my flight sims...... now AceCombat: Assault Horizon - PC Enhanced Edition, FSX and X-Plane 11 i get a steady 40-50 frames with Maximum rendering options enabled
that card is a NVidia 570HD 2.5 GB VRAM card, by eVGA. that is soon going to be a 670 4GB FTW replacing it.

Never had an issue with it, I also forced the AFT vista drivers to load just so I could have those custom drive icons... Also Falcon NW has been using them as featured hardware for yearsAceCombat wrote:Hey bubba, how is that AFT 5U reader working, i got the same thing, and today it started acting weird with my new SanDisk 32GB Micro SD card..........?
My suggestion- can of air...clear those slots! Before any troubleshooting

Re: The 2013 Post your PC's and Workstations Thread
My computer itself isn't worth discussing, as it is perpetually (and indefinitely) in that state I like to call "In The Shop", i.e. I don't have a proper rig. I'm running on a terrible little get-me-by refurb deal that's on its last leg. So instead, I'll mention the bits actually worth something:
Logitech G19 keyboard
Kensington Expert trackball
IBM P275 21" flatscreen CRT (native res 1600x1200, max ~2000x1600)
3 TB external HDDs (1 TB Seagate and a 2 TB Western Digital)
And last but not least, this old gem I found in a box a while back:
Works quite nicely despite its age, although I did have to tweak it in the mines... it's a bit finnicky.

To him, boredom was a greater evil than hunger or sexual frustration, for boredom signaled the waste of a mind.
