Chronicles of Riddick
Chronicles of Riddick
Anyone gearing up to see this movie? By the title I'm wonder if it will be a installment type movie something like the old Flash Gordon movies (oh wait...most of you are too young to know what I'm talking about ).
The promos look good, but then so did Von Hellspring.

I liked pitch black. Not a lot, but hey, I'm very hard to please when it comes to movies. However, I am in the middle of my univ exams, so I don't have a lot of time. I'll go see the new Harry Potter movie instead, in order to put my mind to more puerile matters than numerical calculus and pre-relational database models
The only negative thing, the trailers make it look like typical brainless sci-fi/action trash. However it's directed by David Twohy, who has a commendable history of good sci-fi films, like Grand Tour, The Arrival, Pitch Black, Below, etc. Sci-fi is clearly one of his strengths so I bet it'll be another good one.
Man, Fox should have hired him to direct AvP instead of that hack Paul Anderson, a good movie would've been practically guaranteed. All bets are off with Anderson...
Heh, I bet all the people who aren't sci-fi fans think it's a cash-in on the "success" of Vin Diesel. What they don't know...

I'm a SciFi fan (when its good) and I think they are trying to cash-in on Vin Diesel's success. It's the only reason they've even made this sequel/prequel, whatever you want to call it, in the first place and since Riddick was the best part about Pitch Black anyways it's a no brainer to do a movie about him. Hopefully this takes his character to the next level. Taking into consideration that it's the same director though lets just say I'm not holding my breath.Asrale wrote:Heh, I bet all the people who aren't sci-fi fans think it's a cash-in on the "success" of Vin Diesel.
