this is irresponsible

Post by callmeslick »

.....and further evidence of why, on another forum, I wondered if the US isn't slipping out of the 'civilized' part of the Civilized World. Our whole legislative process depends on Civil exchanges, and yet, we get this from a sitting Senator:

now, a real statesman would tell the consituents to cool it, because impeachment is a high bar to cross, and very disruptive to the nation. But, no, Old Tom admits that he has NO CLUE what the definition of 'high crimes and misdemeanors' is, but goes on to accept the idea. He then launches into his Constitutional Convention idea, which, as I discussed in another thread, is likely to see dominance of those small, blue states when the dust settles.

Yea, he is out of line.
Obama already told him and the other Repubs, in a quite civilized tone, that they were 'welcome to come along for the ride but they would have to sit at the back of the bus'
I think that was right before he told his supporters that in terms of fighting for political victory 'if the Repubs bring a knife then his followers should bring a gun'

So why is Coburn crossing the line and introducing hyperbole to the process when addressing his followers! It is truly outrageous!

The guy's so bitter and resentful, he'd better be careful. He'll pucker up tighter than a frightened sphincter from spouting all that sour, lemony vitriol.

That's what I was wondering slick. He just can't let it go...been watching the exact same thing from him for a dozen years. It's never changed.

I'll take passion over apathy any day. Passion can be tempered. Nothing you can do with apathy.

I actually am happier Spidey, I'm glad you've noticed. The lunacy I read on this board gives me a good laugh from time to time--nothing but rejected musings of unimportant people. People of influence do not need an internet forum to post all the answers to life. Please continue, your double-stepped march towards irrelevancy is quite fun to watch. Enjoy!

Coburn. I don't personally know Will, but I've seen Mr. Coburn in action.

What I'd like to know, is on what grounds do these morons have to try and impeach Obama? I'm not a fan of Obama since he's turned into yet another lying politician, but other than the probably unconstitutional NSA spying on Americans BS, that Bushie started by the way, I don't see anything that rises to that level. Is it because he's black or because he's a Democrat, or because he's both? What has he done that Bushie didn't do worse and NOT get impeached for it?

Being originally from Oklahoma, I'm familiar with Coburn. He's always been just one of those name-recognition politicians who uses every opportunity to get his voice in the news. Meh.

Well, if he's going for platitudes and schmoozing, he's no better than all the other Republican politicians whining about Obama doing this and that nastiness, instead of putting aside the virulent animosity they had towards him since he got elected. Things need to get done in this country and the politicians need to work together for once, no matter how much they hate the other side. Pathetic.

I count myself among the many who never posted on a bulletin board in an attempt to be important or influential, so you can only imagine my distress at reading this. :P (happier my ass) My question is why do you believe that influence is the measure of a man, or acceptance that of his ideas? In my experience it is only an indicator, and is often misleading in both cases, since there are plenty of men who seek influence and acceptance above all else when in truth they merit neither. Anyone who rejects or scorns a man for this is a fool.

glad you can finally admit that you like the rest of us are an unimportant person that doesn't have any influence over others.

But I'm guessing you never have understood that this is a forum of opinion. Not a forum of influence. Not one of us has the answers of life.

Sometimes we learn something from each other many times we don't even attempt to. And then there are some that never even try to add anything either way. So ask yourself. Which one are you?
