I heard the gun shots the day it happened. And just a couple of days earlier I watched as he gave out candy to my grandsons on Halloween. The precession traveled down the street next to mine and my daughter took those same grandsons and stood in the rain for the hour and watched as almost 500 cruisers passed by, some from as far away as Chicago, San Diego, and Canada. The whole procession was almost 12 miles in length.

Sad, and he was only a reserve officer. How come the nice guys always seem to die too soon?
