Looking for a Descent website containing D1/2 robot sounds

Post by []V[]essenjah »

Hey, I've been looking all over for a website that used to have information about all the D1 and D2 robots and had all the sound files for the different robots/weapons. D3, and all the expasion pack stuff was also archived here and if I remember right, there were also links to various mods here. I know it exists because I had it bookmared at one point but I can't locate it. Anyone know where it's at? I really need to locate this website so I can get some info for a project I'm working on. :) Thanks :)

Get your stuff yourself. Use DTX or DTX2 from DNet to extract the sound files from the game packages.

Ugh, the problem is that I don't even have a PC version of Descent 1 anymore. :( I have D2 but what I want are mostly D1 sound effects. That and it won't even fun on my Windows 2000 system with Geforce 4. :P

I have the PS1 version of D1 though. :P

D2 has most, if not all, of the D1 sound effects.

What I'm looking for specifically are all the old robot sounds. The Red Hulk, Diamond Claw, Driller, Class 2 Drone the Fusion Hulk, etc....

They're all there. Flip DTX2 to use 11KHz sounds, and check the sounds.

D2 DOES have all the D1 robots, remember?

Remember that the quality makes a big difference for the sound fx. The Vulcan driller, for example, just doesn't sound as terrifying as it does in D1 because of this. If you want to get the original sounds of D1 from D2, simply reduce the quality to D1 specs.

The website you're looking for does not exist anymore.

Messenger, get with me over ICQ and I'll hook you up. You better hurry up too because I'm leaving on Wednesday morning and won't be back for two weeks. (Heading back to California to visit relatives)
