HuffPost is a tabloid. This is just more political fluff. I side with Rep. Martin that his words were sarcastic (they seemed that way to me reading them in context). I don't think there is anything, as Will would say, Freudian about it. Still, that post is rather ineloquent. I would hold his poor speech against him, not his views.

Yeah, I don't put that in the same ballpark as some past stupid quotes. If anything I think sending the original "Valentine" was even more stupid: did they expect to change his vote on such a divisive issue just because they sent him a card?

I'm big on greeting cards. Will and Woody's Christmas cards were appreciated, for instance....
