Protocols

Post by woodchip »

It never ceases to amaze me that people will put "protocols" pertaining to a given situation as some sort of unbreakable rule. Here is a case where school officials ought to be charged with child endangerment and be punished just as how they treated a student:

"A Minnesota public high school was so committed to obeying its fire drill policy to the exact letter of the law that it forced a female student–dressed only in a swimsuit, and sopping wet–to stand outside in the freezing cold for ten minutes. As a result, she suffered frostbite."

"It was 5 degrees below zero in St. Paul that day. With the windchill, it was 25 degrees below zero."

So why shouldn't the school officials who prevented her from going someplace warm not be arrested?

Even if it was a real fire, one of the teachers couldn't get her into a goddamn car to keep her warm?

I have to wonder why anyone was listening to the teachers when a childs life was in danger?

This is the kind of person our society is asking for, despite how much they may complain when the ★■◆● hits the fan.
