[Split from] Super Cat

We do not believe that the cuckoo has superintellect when she use this feature of other birds to be breastfed her cubs? :) While it is true there are many touching instances where dolphins save people from sharks, elephants rescued young children, monkeys save people, and mongooses, etc. Furthermore, it is known that there are several confirmed instances where human kids were raised by wild animals.
Maybe, but it's still impressive that particular dolphin chose a human, who happened to have the tools and hands capable of removing fishing line, instead of another animal. I find it very sad that the Japanese kill these very smart mammals for food. :frown:

I certainly feel sorry for the dolphins, which are eaten by the Japanese...
But generally that American tourists are happy to eat the brains of live monkeys.
And American soldiers are not much different from rabid animals, when they forced civilians to drink a bucket of water with pepper their captives, and then the soldiers jumped on their stomach.
If you look at the films "Faces of Death" and "Triumph Over Violence" (Beware! Dangerous for the psyche!), then you will easy to treat this than the Japanese eating dolphins.
Despite the fact that these films show the cruelty of life, nonetheless I still can recommend it to see at least once.
If you allow me, I will not provide links to documentaries about the atrocities of American soldiers. Otherwise, you will need to undergo rehabilitation with the use of potent drugs.

If we have blinders on, then you have your head stuck down a well. The state-run Russian media is one of the most prolific propaganda machines on the planet. Or do you honestly believe that they're not eating right out of Putin's hand?

Yes, I actually saw "Faces of Death" and "Faces of Death II" when they came out on VHS videotape. Pretty gruesome stuff, especially the images of accident victims that were in plane and car crashes, although some of the supposed killing scenes were actually staged. However, that the scene of people eating live monkey brains was real. By the way, eating live monkey brains is mostly an Asian and African thing anyway. I'd think most Americans would be repulsed at the very thought of it. Plus, the danger from any diseases the diner be exposed to would certainly outweigh the desire to essentially torture an animal by eating it's brains alive. Doesn't seem to deter the Chinese or Africans who do it though.

Yes, U.S. soldiers have done some nasty things all in the name of war, even more recently in that Abu Ghraib fiasco in Iraq, but so have the soldiers of every other country in the world in wartime. Russia, by the way, was not an exception to this practice during the retreat of the Germans in WWII. So, does one evil justify another evil?

You forget, Cat, that Russian soldiers shot Russian soldiers looters.
Even if sometimes there were individual cases cruelty... which is not surprising ...
I do not want to comment on what you say... Americans torture people for fun, while Russian soldiers destroyed the Nazis.
You are so fun and easy to talk about it, because you probably do not know that every Russian family has relatives, tortured and killed by the German Nazis.

Don't get me wrong sigma, I don't begrudge the revenge mentality of the Russians against the Nazis. They were cruel and brutal invaders and deserved to be beaten and destroyed. Hell, we tortured Germans during WWII, especially after seeing and liberating the Jewish Death camps. But we're only human and revenge is part of our mentality. Russian soldiers are human too, and they had their own "fun" on the way back to Berlin, just as the German's had their "fun" on their way to Stalingrad. Rape and torture are the tools of terror and revenge, and both sides were guilty of doing it. Sure, there are Americans who torture for fun, every society has their psychopaths, but I'm sure there are quite a few Russian soldiers with the same predilection during war. You just haven't heard about it. It's one of those dirty secrets of war, crimes without honor. Our press tells us about the crimes our soldiers do because they can usually find out about it. But I seriously doubt your government admits that your own soldiers are capable of evil crimes, because your press is controlled by your government, and your government doesn't want you as citizens to know about it. Blissfully ignorant. Crime and evil knows no nationality. Maybe if you understand that we all have the same faults, you'll see we aren't so different from each other after all. (And I just know this is heading for a thread split. :P )

Wtf... Sigma was happily talking about animals until someone brought up world affairs... Not his fault.

Also, I love sigma's views on America, because it's ironic that the most oppressed country on the planet sees the freest country, U.S, as oppressed. I wish we had more Russians on this forum telling me how oppressed I am, while I legally own hand guns, for fun and self-defense, and say whatever I want, like "Obama is gay. Come find me, faggot FBI".

Sigma! You're what keeps me coming back to this forum!

I do not really understand exactly what you mean when you call Russia the most oppressed country on the planet.

That is walking on the street with a firearm, shooting cats in the trash for fun and blacks for self-defense, and to shout "Obama is gay. Come find me, ****** FBI!", in your opinion, is the manifestation of freedom?

Let me put it this way. Freedom means the government trusts the citizen to do the right thing. I don't need a permit to buy a gun. I don't need a permit to carry a semi-automatic hand gun in my car, around my house, or at my shop. I don't need a permit to carry a long gun in public = Freedom. Freedom means the government trusts me not to go around using my guns to shoot poor cats and people with darker skin than me, in reference to your previous post. Freedom means my government trusts me to only draw my weapon when a life (or property, in some states) is in danger.

Definition of freedom.

If the U.S. government has allowed citizens to freely acquire, store and use firearms, means was an urgent need for self-defense U.S. citizens from each other. I do not see such a threat or the need for Russia. Though of course, the population has a lot of traumatic, hunting, legal and illegal firearms.
tunnelcat wrote: Too bad most Russians see all Americans as weird and evil. We're generally a pretty nice group of people.
Actually, I sometimes read the comments of ordinary Americans to the news the Western press. And I can confidently say that in the opinion of Americans, I see common sense and independent view on political issues. While also clear that Western journalists trying to deliberately create hype and provocation. It's their job, it's their bread, it's understandable. Also apparently shows that the U.S. political elite is out of touch with reality.
I am against free to carry firearms in Russia. But I think that if the U.S. will continue to intervene in Russia, all of us make use of any weapon.

Urgent? No. It's just common sense; a police officer is really heavy and doesn't fit in my pocket. A five shot snubbie, however, does.

Also, when the government disarms its people, that government is tyrannical.

Also, why are we talking abut this here, sigma? Want to start a new thread. Technically we're all talking about the "super cat".

Super Cat was weaker and worse armed than a rabid dog that attacked surreptitiously weak and defenseless child. Russia is also weaker than the U.S., but nevertheless it has the courage to defend the weak and defenseless people in other countries from U.S. aggression.

Again, you confuse the us government with its people. I, the American, have a right to bear arms, which is a right put in place so that i can join a militia to fight the US Government if it becomes tyrannical, as a last resort against tyranny. Again, that's what a free country has.

U.S. has long been a tyrant. But not for its citizens and for citizens of other countries.
I do not care what size gun can hold ordinary Americans. But it is clear that the U.S. government is much less afraid of armed American than Russian government is afraid of unarmed Russian people.

I think this applies to every single country in the world. Usually, governments everywhere sucks very badly, but people can be actually very nice.
A government doesn't always represents the ideology nor the manners of the real people out there (of course, there might be exceptions, but it's more or less a general rule).

A kitty analogy for the Putin vs. Obama standoff. Obama backs down.

Cat (n.) A bipolar creature which would as soon gouge your eyes out as it would cuddle.

:)
quote:
"This stems from the low intellectual leadership of the United States and the EU , as well as experts who are involved in key decisions . The notion that the West won the Cold War and so today you can relax, led to the total degradation deprofessionalization institutions and people responsible for the foreign policy of the United States and almost all of Europe. If this were not so, Barack Obama would not be president, John Kerry - U.S. Secretary of State , and Joe Biden - Vice President of the United States. About idiots who are now working in the State Department , which in former times had never happened , even he does not want . In Europe, the same thing happens ."

I think I would like PTMC Cafe free of foreign policy discussions in future :)
Apart from being better-suited to E&C they are also not proving productive.

I love cats. Any. But when American cats administered stupid and unjust sanctions against Russian cats, I can not remain indifferent. I'm sorry.
