kudos, and another thought to bounce around

Post by callmeslick »

.....came back to this keyboard after a very pleasant 4th with 4 generations of the 'Slick clan at my house. Massive amounts of burgers, dogs, shrimp. cake etc,etc were consumed, my Dad got to play with his great-grandkids, it was all good, and I hope it was for all of my fellow Americans on this board. It was good to log onto a board and see some really interesting back and forth on a few threads. CUDA knows how rare such can be on some sites. At any rate, my catching up on news and stuff brought me to this article:
http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2014/07/06/c ... udy-finds/

now, can I hear about how gay marriage destroys the American family, again?

Good for them.
Maybe we could get the gay community to start adopting in Chicago.
82 shot, 14 dead...just during the weekend.
I think there are some really f'ed up family values at work there....

that's all? For a 3 day weekend in the third-largest city in the US,in the throes of a major drug gang war, on a 3-day weekend in the summer? Damn near peaceful, I'd say. Kinda wonder why Will(coming to us from South Carolina?) is THAT concerned with Chicago's drug gang problems as to use the subject to make a clumsy attempt to change the thread topic?

Yeah slick, no big deal. All major cities have stats like that for a 3 day holiday weekend.

you read the words about the city being in a drug gang war, right? Hell, likely 10 shootings with or without fatalities any summer weekend in Reading, PA, with the same problem, just 2% of the people. Extrapolate that to Chicago, and you'd have 500 shootings and dozens dead weekly.

At any rate, why are you posting about this subject in a thread on gay families? Don't wish to approach the thead topic, huh?

Thread topic is a dead horse, besides nobody here is going to be persuaded by yet another phony “study” designed by someone to reinforce preconceived beliefs.

I could go into all of the problems with that “study” starting with the fact that many a small sub-group can easily outperform the population as a whole, or the fact that it’s not apples to apples…and so on…

Actually I had just read about that death toll in Chicago that slick wants to sluff off as just another day in the hood when I read his post. And I'm genuinely happy to see that stat about gay families, I hope it too is genuine. And in light of what I just read about the severe destruction of the general family unit in Chicago I posted my spontaneous feelings...that if only the kids there could be so well raised as to value life a little more...to reject the plantation massa's training and fight FOR something instead of self destruct.

Just another summer day? Lol!

Another pathetic attempt at tossing a red herring into the discussion. Weak-toss slick misses again.

The ridiculous dysfunction in the areas of Chicago that produce the high murder rates are possible any where under any administration.
Anywhere you find it being instigated and sustained by 'community agitators' and opportunists who exploit the victim class for their own gain at the expense of their proxy marytrs.

New York City has consistently run safer neighborhoods after adopting a better model for dealing with the problems. They are far from conservative/republican lead state/city. So your premise is, once again, flawed.

the murder rate in NYC is on the rise, and Indy has a higher per capital rate of murders and shootings than Chicago of late. Smaller cities with gang issues such as Camden, Reading(PA), and others have a VASTLY higher rate. Seems like Chicago gets the attention of the loony-tune right because:
1. Obama came from there
2. His chief-of-staff from 1st term is now mayor
3. It's large, the numbers are big, and it's an easy target.

so, it isn't me obscuring anything. I'm merely pointing out what should have been obvious. This isn't a problem of politics, ideology or any simplistic thing. As with so many issues, it's a complex mass of factors that come together tragically.

Chicago gets the attention because of the loony lefts gun control policy

slick, you are purposely ignoring the one little detail.

I said: "The ridiculous dysfunction in the areas of Chicago that produce the high murder rates...."

The results I'm pointing at are not necessarily the fault of any administration/governor it is a cultural thing that one political party cultivates and exploits.

Yes some political entities do contribute to this phenomenon and so they deserve to have it thrown at their feet. Obama and Emanuel are of that party and they are professional grade exploiters so the association to them is not without relevance.
But the observation I made is not intended to make it just about those parasitic con men. And the observation wasn't intended to hold the entire city of Chicago out as evidence.

The high concentrations of dysfunction that breed these thugs are the byproduct of liberals exploiting and perpetuating the situation every bit as much as the conservative policies you like to blame for them. Your zeal for stifling any discussion of this reality is symptomatic of how the electorate's voice stays neutered and the status quo remains enforce.

if you'd leave out the guesswork that is the last paragraph there, you might be on to something. But, you never can, can you?

That last paragraph is quite true.

I know it is your practice to leave out anything that doesn't protect your liberal team but I'm not beholding to them so why would I leave out the truth when instead I can shine light on the obvious and make those who are trying so hard to ignore it even more uncomfortable with their role in perpetuating the problem?
People like you.

Besides slick, if you really read it, and if you really are sincere in agreeing with it up to the last paragraph, then you can't really refute the final analysis since it just restates the indictment in a more succinct fashion without naming individuals and alludes to the greater long term harm being done by the guilty.
