North to Alaska

Post by woodchip »

While the federal govt allows millions of people to sneak into our country over our southern boarders, our northern boarders are being handled most professionally and with utmost care:
A Boy Scout troop from the nation’s heartland is demanding answers and a U.S. senator is expressing outrage after a group of scouts was detained by Border Patrol agents and one child allegedly was held at gunpoint.
As their vans were moving through a checkpoint into the United States, one of the scouts snapped a photograph. Agents stopped the van and ordered all the passengers to get out. They told the underage photographer that he had committed a federal crime.

“The agent immediately confiscated his camera, informed him he would be arrested, fined possibly $10,000 and ten years in prison,” Fox told Des Moines television station KCCI.

During the search, one of the scouts tried to retrieve a bag from the roof carrier. When he turned around, Fox said a border guard had a loaded pistol pointed at the child.

“He heard a snap of the holster, turns around, and here’s this agent, both hands on a loaded pistol, pointing at the young man’s head,” Fox told the television station.

Now understand that the boy scouts were in uniform and not being unruly. Perhaps next time the scouts should try and sneak in as I suspect they will have a lot less hassle doing so.

They also wanted to know why the Boy Scouts were hauling “excessive amounts of lighters, matches and knives.”
Speak about being absolutely clueless.

why WERE they carrying matches and lighters? Geez, things have changed since I was a Scout........

Seriously, though, yet another case of bureaucracy run amok.

We need to rethink this legal weed thing and the workplace implications...because obviously if these guys stuck up there bored silly guarding the big trees had a mellow buzz going on they wouldn't have been able to be frightened by some scouts. And for crying outloud people, don't we all knw by now, when confronted by Border Patrol, just tell them you are Hondurans and everything will be irie!

They forgot the coffee then, always mix in a little caffeine to bust the fog.

Of course that was back in the day when the stuff wasn't so powerful. I hear I wouldn't be able to handle it any more.

I'm with Will. Too much boredom laced with heavy doses of caffeine, or even meth. If they were using maryjane, those agents would have been far more mellow.
