Here is a great view into what is done to give you a candidate.

In Georgia they bring in a legacy name and talk at great length about what people will turn out and which ones are good for donations....'Jews are good for big money'...'gays too'...blacks and Hispanics need to be brought out in large numbers to get a win.....how to pose the candidate to make her appear as if she is something she isn't...how the opposition will turn out lots of negative stories but that they will be given warnings by the media before they run the stories so she will have a chance to deflect the damage....

On and on and not once do they mention the desires or needs of the citizens and how she qualifies to provide for them! No mention of her policy positions other than to mention she needs to come up with one on Israel if she wants to cash in on the Jews money!

Wow! Just great to be her constituent if she wins. Must make all you Party loyalists so proud to see them working so hard to bring you the best representation...really has her finger on the pulse of the voters huh?

ever work on a campaign, Will? They are all pretty much like that, once you get past maybe school board or justice of the peace. Now, one can hope that the candidate got into politics with a goal of representing whatever district, but once you get down to the actual campaign for election, it's about fundraising, organizing, and managing image. Sort of like making sausage....whether you like the result or not, watching it being made isn't pretty at times.
