It's a trap! (D2 LV. 15)

Post by Star Man Aevum »

So there's this Invulnerability power up in a small room surrounded an all but one side with force fields. There's a few control panels in there to shoot at, but they do nothing. Sensing a trap, I tried peeking through and disarming all the control panels, but something shoved me in there and another force field activated, trapping me inside. After bouncing around for a bit trying to find something to shoot, I eventually died.

Screenshots to show what I'm talking about:

ANy of you cats know a way to get in there? There's an Earthshaker among those that I would rather not lose.

go in there without shooting those panels first and then you might actually have a chance of surviving.
if you already saved after dying in there, your stuff is gone dude.

Yea, this one has always confused me, but I suspect the guy who designed that level would be laughing right now. Wolfie's right - the only way to disable those force fields is by the panels you shot.

It's a trick

if you go in there more than 1 time you will die

the object is to have fun you enter grab inv then bounce till the cows come home then it let's you out

go back in a second time you will die without the inv powerup

I seem to have a better workout dodging your stupidity than attempting to grasp the weight of your intelligence.

When the force fields lock you in, turn right and that panel will release the field. You ain't gonna need to go back to there.

Don't waste too much time grab the inv. and rush out of the area with full throttle because a lot of powerful mechs and seekers are released. You'll need that inv. to get past them alive on higher difficulty settings.
Insane difficulty, cold start, no death, full rescue, 100+ HP at exit.

That trap is like UBER gay. I think only one of those panels actually opens the forcefield, and you'll probably waste half of your invulnerability time figuring out which one that is. Unless you do something stupid like you did, die and permanently lose your stuff, huhu

So what do the remaining ones do once you've disabled the first one? Restore the forcefield or something? I think I've been in a situation where I destroyed more than one panel and the forcefield reappeared, not too sure about that tho

They all turn off the forcefield. The trigger to turn it on when you go into the cube isn't a one-shot for some reason, so if you get trapped in there a second time you can shoot one of the other triggers. Or you could die, it's up to you.
