Federalist papers.
try reading them before you say what you "think" the founding fathers believed

Re: Beheadings
a great suggestion, but there are a lot of writings beyond those which give great insight into Jefferson, the Adams', Franklin and others.CUDA wrote:Federalist papers.

Reliance on Madison and his circle(the Fed papers) is limiting, but, those ARE a great insight into the deep thinking that went into the back
and forth that produced the Constitution and Bill of Rights.

Re: Beheadings
Ferno, I don't know what benchmark you use to measure 'religious' but using the way we attribute religious characteristics to politicians today you would group most of them in with Huckabee.
As to: 'Did the founders write the Bill of Rights?'
Who is a founder in your mind? Madison is considered to be the primary author, that is why I pointed you to him.
And 'premise' was used correctly.
Their argument based on that truth they believed in was explained in the Declaration and then in the Bill of Rights.
If you would go read the material you could decide for yourself.

The statement they held up was that all citizens are equal and have rights that belong to them by virtue of being free citizens.www.vocabulary.com/dictionary/premise:
In logic, the premise is the basic statement upon whose truth an argument is based.
Criticize alternative theories by demonstrating their false premises. In a more general sense, it's a basic assertion.

and what I think is no different than what you think. You might not agree now, but down the road you will.

Another cryptic quote by Ferno that says nothing.

Re: Beheadings
Sigma what makes you think those suits weren't chosen on purpose, by ISIS, to provide 'optics' that play well to the western observer? The statement being that here are examples of guilty infidel prisoners presented as you infidels present prisoners.
ISIS isn't without sophisticated leadership but that doesn't mean the sophistication has to be of US origin.

Probably got those along with the rest of the American equipment they captured.
