Remember the cops charged for Freddie Gray's death?

One of them has a clear history of violent mental disturbance- yet he was still on the force.

The Baltimore police lieutenant charged with the manslaughter of Freddie Gray allegedly threatened to kill himself and the husband of his ex-girlfriend, during incidents that led to him being disciplined and twice having his guns confiscated.

Brian Rice, who pursued and arrested Gray after the 25-year-old “caught his eye” on 12 April, was reportedly given an administrative suspension after being hospitalised for a mental health evaluation when he warned he was preparing to shoot himself in April 2012.

Now- why would he still be even wearing a badge after the first incident? Government workers are apparently very hard to fire.

Baltimore, democrat bastion of over 40 years, has mentally disturbed policeman still on the force- AFTER it is demonstrated with clear evidence that they are a danger it seems. Power of the unions perhaps?

Did some deal with the police union allow unstable individuals like this guy keep him on the street with a gun and a badge?

It's also interesting that the 'race riots' have been in democrat strongholds. Why exactly?

to the latter part, MOST EVERY urban area in the US is a 'Democratic Stronghold', usually because the GOP doesn't offer anything to those communities, and most of the party supporters caused the mess they are in in the first place, or perpetuated it(despite Woody's ludicrous efforts to 'prove' otherwise, elsewhere).
The reason you don't see GOP 'strongholds' having race riots is that they are largely segregated areas with an all-white populace, and that most of the locals are too busy marrying their next-of-kin.

Lol, in slick's america you are either 'living under the protection of the democrats where the black people are rioting because of the injustice or you are a bunch of inbred white people living in the republican territories'.

I live in South Carolina, a red state, our capital Columbia is run by republicans. They have 49% white population, not very wealthy. Cost of living and unemployment lower than the US average. Median income lower than the U.S. average.

Riots? None so far. Even after a cop committed cold blooded murder on a black man and it was shown on video to the whole world.
Of course the government in this GOP stronghold, all inbred racist white people according to slick, did the right thing about it.

Of course, I was being sarcastic, but as always, trying to boil down complex socioeconomic issues of a serious nature into simplistic party politics is the idiocy that got my attention.
That said, I wouldn't live in SC on a dare, and in fact, stopped my annual 10 day vacations down there about a decade back when the whackjobs took over the state altogether. I miss Charleston and Hilton Head.

The GOP stronghold with a lack of black people was the key.
