(CNN)U.S. Rep. Loretta Sanchez would seem the perfect picture of an ethnically diverse Democrat. But a brief gesture caught on a cell phone camera Saturday marred that image and sent her running.
Literally -- away from a reporter trying to chase her down for comment on a gaffe that many found racially offensive.
Sanchez, who announced last week that she is seeking to replace retiring Sen. Barbara Boxer in the U.S. Senate, was ad-libbing at a California Democratic party convention in Anaheim, when she made a stereotypical Native American 'war cry.'
Raising her hand to her lips, she let out about two seconds of it.
"I'm going to his office, thinkin' that I'm gonna go meet with woo-woo-woo-woo, right? 'Cause he said 'Indian American,'" she said, using the gesture to try to discern between Indian Americans -- with ancestry from India's subcontinent -- and Native Americans.
What's funny is that if she really is 'hispanic' she's probably got some native American blood herself.
In 2010, she let loose on Spanish-language TV that the Vietnamese community was teaming up with Republicans to take her congressional seat. She called her opponent, Republican Van Tran, "very anti-immigrant and very anti-Hispanic," the Sacramento Bee reported.
Yes because Vietnamese Americans aren't immigrants themselves.

yup, it was. Hope she loses in the primary. Note the reaction, though, of Dems....one of outrage largely, as opposed to the tacit acceptance when such stuff occurs in the Grand Old Party.

That is a laughable assertion. The only reason the Dems would react to condemn her is if the seat wasn't in jeopardy to a republican opponent otherwise they would circle the wagons as they have done countless times.
Your attempt to paint them as more honorable is ridiculous...and predictable.
Yes I do have a habit of pointing out your bull★■◆● statements.
I can live with being the guy who points them out as long as you can live with being the guy who makes them.

Dude. he just said "Hope she loses". how is that painting them as honorable?
actually no. I don't really want to know. I don't really care anymore.

Do you know how to identify the 'subject' of a sentence? It would help you to understand what you read if you could. In this particular case it was "Dems" and "them" and if you knew that you would know why you are wrong...
As to not wanting to know...being willfully ignorant is just being stupid.

umm, what is predictable is that you will fail to accept my condemnation, and the condemnation of Sanchez by Democrat leaders, but will point to some mythical 'other instance' to bolster your blind hatred.

The 'condemnation' wasn't the subject of my comments was it? It was the sincerity of it.
Ferno might be that illiterate but I think you are just playing dumb in order to dodge the point that was clearly made.
In spite of your spin, democrats, when the election is at stake, will not rush to condemn their only hope to retain power any more than the repubs will. You can roll that rat turd around in the sugar all day long it will never be a gumdrop.
actually, Sanchez is the mainstream party choice, so it was NOT easy for the party troops to lambast her. I have no idea who the GOP opposition is, either, so you assume a safe district, but is that actually the case?

speaking of racism, I see that prof from Duke just got his ass suspended. Here's a conservative link with the usual apologies as to how he was correct. I'll let others decide, but will point out that the article seems to gloss over the fact that Africans were the ONLY ethnic group that came here by force, and secondly, without the ability to amass capital from the get-go. http://www.youngcons.com/duke-universit ... t-article/

Her district is purple. Long Beach to Orange County. The seat was previously held by a Republican. But we're talking Boxer's Senate seat. I did a quick search on the conservative opposition and found two. One looks like a throw-away flat-taxer with no chance, the other is long time military, but I can't find issue positions yet.
Are you guys pretending you didn't find out it is a safe Dem seat?
SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) -- Democratic congresswoman Loretta Sanchez announced Thursday that she is running for the U.S. Senate, injecting competition into a race that had been shaping up as a runaway for Attorney General Kamala Harris.
.....
Democrats are strongly favored to hold the seat in a state where the party controls every statewide office and both chambers of the Legislature. Two little-known Republicans have entered the race: state Assemblyman Rocky Chavez and former state GOP chairman Tom Del Beccaro.
We'll probably replace Boxer with another Dem, but California can surprise you. A centrist conservative would have a decent chance. But are there any of those left?
Agreed. I'm in Southern California which is super conservative. Pretty much everyone I've met out here is either a Libertarian or Republican. The San Diego Union Tribune doesn't even hide the fact it is a right-wing propaganda rag. You wouldn't believe some of the crazy stuff they print.
