Definitely. I love to re-watch all of my old Star Trek and Star Wars DVDs all the time. I even enjoy watching Battlestar Galactica (New Version) and that Wing Commander movie that everyone thought was a dog occasionally. All those movies are still escapist fun, even in reruns.

I think the best sci-fi to be had these days is in the video game industry, myself.
Anything promising on TV dies after half a season due to budget, the fact that the audience is more inclined to watch on DVR vs live, or simply being on FOX.

Hmm... there haven't been a lot of sci-fi series on HBO or Netflix so far that I can recall? Those are the two places they couldn't care less whether you watch live or not.
