Maybe Webb for VP....

Post by callmeslick »

....I'm starting to get a vibe that Jim isn't raising enough cash, fast enough, and will likely announce that he isn't running. Sad all around. If I have to choose, among the current candidates(16 between both parties), I have to go with Sanders. I don't agree with half of his platform, but he is so far past the rest of the field in personal integrity, I can live with that. It still won't get us past those 51-49 split elections, I'm afraid, though. Maybe he'll pick Webb as his Veep.

Dammit! I guess I'll have to go with Sanders too, but I was really hoping for Webb. However, I seriously doubt Bernie would win the presidency in a country that goes absolutely bonkers psycho when anyone even breathes the word "socialist". BOO!

I like what Trump said when he was asked about what he'd do about ISIS. It was something along the lines of he'd pop them all in the head and take all their oil. I can see how well the people in the Middle East would take to that little idea.

Yeah, this sucks. I was on Webb's site the other day and it's looking kinda bare. Sanders seems nice and anti-establishment, so I'll keep an eye on him.

don't count old Bernie out on the socialist thing. The more people hear from him, the better the idea of democratic socialism(ie-Scandanavian model) might sound. Plus, like I said, he is no talking head for puppetmasters, but is as authentic as they come. I am shocked at how fast he's catching up to Clinton in the polls. I am mixed on his agenda, to be sure, but he has great thinking on how Presidential campaigns ought to be debates around ideas, rather than sound bites. Will it work in practice? Time will tell.

my guess at the actual reason is that Bernie Sanders is getting so much press that there is little room to define a third option. Just a guess, though.

Make room, it doesn’t seem to stop the other team.

The press is giving Sanders a ride because Hilary is in damage control mode.

I'd agree, but it isn't my time, nor my money(well, except for $1000 of it, which is likely long since spent exploring the options).

To bad the Dems have such a poor field. All they can do is put up 2 candidates? Says volumes of the sad shape they are in. And all we need is another die hard commie/socialist like Sanders to ruin...er run the country.

actually, it is just the opposite......they have two VERY strong candidates, either or whom could win the election over any GOP candidate. I'd like to see Webb in the race to provide a complete spectrum reflecting the diversity of the party, but can't see why the GOP has any sense of pride in the embarrassing collection of loons who have come forward there. If you think Bernie Sanders is somehow akin to Obama, you really need to educate yourself. Hillary is somewhat close to Obama philosophically, but Sanders? I am starting to look forward to him winning the nomination and the election just to show some folks that they never really understood what a socialist is. And, Bernie is a socialist.....if you wish to lump him in with communism, you clearly don't understand what the term means.

Just heard on Fox News that Webb is going to announce his run for pres next week.
Let's hope he's going to actually run, not bow out.
