a little bit of me always likes Lindsay Graham

....I wouldn't vote for the guy, because I think he is wrong, and potentially an economic disaster for a recovering economy, but I admire his
frankness in stating his position:http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/ ... ar-AAcJKIq

if my entire decision was based on authentically stating your whole position, he'd be in first place. Bernie Sanders, the current darling of some on the Dem side, presents some very interesting proposals about economics, election fairness etc, but has thus far buried his support of war with Iran, unlimited support for Israel over the Palestinian people, and full-bore Defense spending. Maybe we need Joe Biden just for the straight talk, even when it comes out sort of funny.

Graham scares me. He's so radical himself he'd resort to using nukes on every radical, even non-radical Muslims, he could fling one at, including Iran. Yes, I think we need to get rid of ISIS. But we need someone with a clear head for tactics, making allies and organizing, and finding ways to pay for, a proper war, not a crazy man like Graham with delusions of wiping out an entire religion as the solution to the problem, which pretty much describes Graham. I think he'd even make things worse for us than they already are because he'd piss off even more people. Giving Graham access to nukes or other weapons of war would be like giving a truckload of roman candles to a 12 year old in the middle of a dry forest miles from water and saying: "Have some fun".

agree completely, TC, but the reason I give Graham props is that he says it all, up front. I think more than one of the GOP clown car, and possibly even Bernie Sanders in the Dem camp, would get us into another middle eastern war. Graham, at least, admits as much.

Trump is up front too, but he only has "ideas" on what he'd do, whatever they are. No specifics, no plans, other than posturing and sword swinging, like most of the other clowns in the clown car.

You're right that Bernie would probably have start another war, but he doesn't want to admit it in his rallies and I think if elected, he would concentrate on the economy first while ISIS keeps on growing. I think Webb has a much more level head on his shoulders to run a war anyway. Besides, we have to deal with ISIS now, whether we created them or not because they aren't going away. The only problem is, our economy won't be able to pick up the tab for another war. We're stuck between a rock and a hard place.

What misinformed news sites are you reading that makes you think ISIS is growing? They are in terrible shape, with the regional coalition besieging ISIS' headquarters and preparing to liberate the city in the next couple weeks. The region does not need the US to handle ISIS, but we've been happy to play a support role and there is no reason why we wouldn't continue on the same course. There is absolutely no need for a full scale military engagement in that region. If anything we might pull back to keep things destabilized.

and, for those who suggest that Obama and others are somehow delusional about the effect economic conditions have upon ISIS recruitment:

I agree, it depends on where you get the information from and since we don't have accurate figures, we don't really know. They have been very effective at recruiting disaffected young males via the internet however. But if you listen to Graham, ISIS is already on U.S. soil in huge numbers and they're going to wipe us out in our homes.
