You won't change any minds either, just as telling Christians that the meaning of those few certain passages in the Bible aren't really about homosexuals or homosexual sex, nor that the Bible has far more to say, negatively by the way, about the abuse of wealth and power. Which sort of automatically disqualifies anything else the guy has to say on the matter. IMHO

really? Proof of same? I've never seen anything beyond anecdotal evidence, which is what the author suggests stems from the creation of the story.
I have, actually, read some of the transcriptions of Eqyptian mythology from around 1200 BC, which is ALARMINGLY similar to the Jesus narrative.

So far there is no solid archaeological proof he existed. All alleged firsthand accounts of his life (the gospels) were written long after his death and the only reliable references to Jesus come from Roman census data. But if there is any proof the Romans created Jesus, then that data would be inadmissible.

Personal note: I have always thought it likely the story of Jesus was at least partially based on a real person, or maybe more than one person from that period whose name(s) may or may not have been Jesus.

If he wasn't real but made up, someone had a very vivid imagination and a lot of time to write it down and make it stick in history. But you have to admire the message of Jesus either way.

We had a discussion of this a while back (viewtopic.php?t=12577 ). The tl;dr of that thread is that, as far as any of us involved could find, there aren't actual ancient Egyptian sources that are "alarmingly similar" to the Jesus narrative, but there are a bunch of 18th century and later faux-Egyptologists who bend and twist both narratives in order to make them appear similar.

I suggest you go do some genuine research. All I've ever read is that there is basically universal agreement among serious historical scholars (Christian and secular) that Jesus was a real historical figure, that he was baptized by John the baptist, and that he was crucified under Pontius Pilate. This would be one place to start. So this guy *could* be right... but he's got quite a hill to climb.
