Reached it this year on 8/13/15, six days earlier than last year. I didn't know anyone kept track of this statistic and yes, it's a little tricky to calculate the variables because they can be somewhat manipulated, but the trend itself is clear. We are using up our planet at an alarming rate. Kind of scary when you actually sit down and think about it. This trend apparently started back in the 1970's, not too long after the first ZPG movement peaked. Think another ZPG movement will come back into vogue, or will we keep multiplying without thought to the consequences and hope technology eventually saves our bacon? I'm guessing most people will tend to think the latter and blithely move on.
