....or, at least that is the strategy firming up for the GOP nomination:

I mean, geez, I know that ALL pols stretch the truth to show their views in the most glowing light, but just making ★■◆● up and tossing it out to the faithful sure doesn't seem terribly Presidential to me.

here's a fresh steaming pile from Senator Cruz. Presumably, he should know how the Senate works, and how nominations pass. Of course, he hasn't shown up too much at THAT job, but still......

Getting hard core conservatives appointed to the Supreme Court might be easier than “breaking up the banks” or “giving everyone free college”.

It’s pretty clear to everyone with a brain that none of these candidates understand how the government works. (actually it’s pretty much what you pointed out in another thread…business as usual, making promises they can’t keep that is)

As far as the lies...yea...pretty much the same thing.

.................

My guess here is Cruz must be rising in the polls, and Carson is no longer a threat.

Not if a Republican gets elected as president in 2016. The House is already a Republican bastion, so there's not much to stop them from putting in an extreme right winger once Ginsberg retires, or dies and you know she's going next.

I'd agree no less challenging. That would be an issue I have with Sanders. Now, he goes to some pains to explain how that fight will take years and years to accomplish. I think he'd settle for Medicare for all in a first term.

actually, if your criteria is the two candidates most practical and knowlegable about how government works(right), you end up with Kasich and Clinton.
Both have seen a lot of different aspects of governance at State and Federal levels. Now, I'm not suggesting that either would pass anyone's ideology or other litmus tests, but on the knowledge of the job criteria only, they stand out like sore thumbs.
