So the socialist Pope, who may very well have learned how to cause dissension by the same guy that taught Obama, Just doesn't know how to keep his yap shut as evidenced by his comment tha Trump must not be Christian if he wants to build a wall. Sorry Popester but your eminence is a moron. First you just drove up Trumps poll numbers 5-10 points by making such a ludicrous statement. Second you alienated all those Christians and others who happen to think the wall is a good thing. Maybe you'll excommunicate any Catholics who also happen to think the wall is a good thing. Lastly, like Reagan told Gorbachev, tear down that wall (around the Vatican). Even better, why don't you retire and go back to working as a bouncer in a bar.

You know, I don't trust Trump. My feeling is the other shoe has to drop at some point, and we'll find out why a soulless businessman has decided to be the new champion of liberty. I've had a passing thought that perhaps politics has just gotten that bad, that someone like Trump can actually be the good guy. He's the only one making any sense on a lot of issues, and that's hard to ignore.

are you suggesting that the Church does not do good deeds or simply doesn't spend the money fast enough for you?

actually, while the Pope was ASKED about Trump, specifically, he showed the class and dignity to NOT name names. Plus, he gave him an out with the bridges comment, but Mr Ego just ran with it to feed red meat to his idiot supporters.

Last, but not least, El Papa just visited Cuba. He hugged and embraced Raúl Castro, a man who has executed priests, harassed religious leaders, and closed Christian schools years ago. Did he call the Castro brothers un-Christian?

Raul did none of those things. Fidel did. Raul coming to power shows a bit of change in attitude. Obama was smart enough to see that, and hoping to capitalize upon that for the betterment of all.

Not so much what Trump says, but the words of his idiot supporters will paint his candidacy, and by default, the entire GOP with the brush of ignorance, intolerance, hatred, and bigotry. Way to go, woody! You just helped, a wee bit, to cement the election for the Dems as the GOP alienates Catholics along with Hispanics(lotta overlap), Blacks, Women and sexual minorities. Wow slick, are you ever living in a Dem distortion bubble. From all the talk shows (both lib and con) where Catholics called in, none approved of what Pope Borgia said. Go ahead and keep fantasizing while Trump keeps stripping away Dem voters, minorities and in general widening his base. Once the primaries are over then we will get the national polls to see how Trump does against Crazy Bernie and his tin foil followers. I really suggest you start listening to a more varied source of commentary than on your liberal source blogs and news organs.

One. Start with explaining the CONSISTENT polling of negatives that puts him at a staggering 60% negative personal image.

Not talking about what Catholics are saying about Trump. Try looking to see what they think about what the Pope said. Remember, a lot of trust in the Church has already been lost because of the priest scandals a few years back.

around here, the Pope is adored by most Catholics. Strongly so, as many I know feel his presence to be the antidote to the scandals, an atonement and refocusing which the church needed. No one is calling in to denigrate the Pope on any local talk shows that I've heard. Everyone seems to grasp, as I did, that the Pope consciously AVOIDED isolating the condemnation to Trump, and spoke in general terms.

A Republican would say it as an epithet: Democrat Catholic.

Even though it's use as an epithet is older than our previous idiot president in office, Bushie's intentional usage of this construction really resurrected the epithet. (Or unintentional in his case. I can't tell if Bush was just an idiot or a savvy hater who loved to use the noun-as-adjective construction to needle his adversaries. Uniter my a$$.) So every time I hear it, I hear it as a derogatory remark by another liberal-hating conservative. Nice people those conservatives.
