Login screen
I got the following message from a friend:
"Something different is happening when I boot up. I get a box that is
titled "Windows XP Home Edition". Then in the box it has "user
name"---(Marie) this is in a box and then they show "Password" (and a
blank box). Below that they give you choices "Okay","cancel", or
"options"."
Is their way to disable the login window? I use TweakUI but she has never used anything and evidently did not have a login screen until now.

That means that she actually set a password for an account, or has multiple accounts enabled. TweakUI won't help her here. She actually has to login, and go into the control panel, double-click the User Accounts icon and either remove the password for the passworded account, or disable the other account if both have no passwords.
Now that being said, having your computer password protected is a GOOD thing. It tends to keep the stupid people out.

dude
Go to control panel, user accounts, change the way users log on or off
put a check in the box to show WELCOME SCREEN
otherwise you get a default NT login screen
If you dont care about security of your physical system use teakUI's auto login
ENJOY
PS before you do the above, login as admin and delete that useless account
