“This is his moment,” Mr. McConnell said on the Senate floor, addressing the president. “He has every right to nominate someone. Even if doing so will inevitably plunge our nation into another bitter and avoidable struggle, that is his right. Even if he never expects that nominee to actually be confirmed but rather to wield as an electoral cudgel, that is his right.”

Mr. McConnell added: “But he has also has the right to make a different choice. He can let the people decide and make this an actual legacy-building moment rather than just another campaign roadshow.”
From this.

So if Obama nominates someone, he'll be making it an issue in the election. (bad) Instead, he shouldn't nominate someone, so we can make it an issue in the election. (good)

These people are weird.

Can't be any weirder than Pelosi saying how they have to pass a certain bill (health care) before they know what's in it.

And will you be whining when the feds come and take 90% of your wealth to fund it?

pull that number out of your ass? No one is taxing ANYONE'S income or wealth to the tune of 90%. Even when we HAD a 90% bracket it was only income over a certain threshold and the overall takeout for the top earners averaged about 50%
