The most optimistic analysis of Trump as a presidential candidate is that he just doesn’t believe in positions, except the ones you adopt for strategic purposes when you’re making a deal.

The republican fear and hatred machine went a long way towards clearing the path for Trump, it is a little late to start complaining about lies, frauds and con artists now.

When one party is the “give everyone what they want” party, just what the hell is left for the other party? And it’s not like Sanders isn’t tapping into fear and hate.

sure, they've borrowed against it, not that I ever put much stock in Al Gore, but that is still the FEDERAL BUDGET, not the SS fund, in reality. There is very lttle needed to make sure SS pays out for another 80 years(at which time, demographics will cover it for another 3 generations or so, should Donald Trump not manage to destroy all civilized life on Earth).

yet, you support a guy who will absolutely blow that debt through the roof. Now, I've long argued that the national debt is very much minor compared to the matter of creating a budget that hovers near balance. Further, a read of the financial press recently made me realize that the real issue, and real cause for much unease isn't that the Government owes 18 trillion dollars, but that the individual citizenry owes a total of $14 trillion in personal debt. That last bit explains the appeal of both Trump and Sanders, or at least the public unease and anger behind the appeal.
