Funny how the "Polls" predicted Carter would beat Reagan 2 weeks before the election. How accurate were the polls then?

I was definitely wrong about Trump's staying power. I figured polls would kind of move around like 2012's 'flavor of the week' rotation. But looking back, that may have been one candidate spouting something wacky, drawing support, and then the next week a different candidate would say something wackier, drawing the support. Trump has sort of contained this 'wackiness one upping' to himself.

My prediction is still in play, though. While it was always possible for the leading "Not Trump" candidate to grow as others dropped out, my prediction was that Cruz would be the landing spot for Trump voters after an implosion. It can still happen!

actually, I would agree, Spidey. Trump's support has little if anything to do with ideology. Something I've claimed about the Tea Party movement all along. They stand for nothing except anger against everything. No plans, no ideas, nothing.

I think a lot of those people against Trump in the GOP are elitist backers and have some sort of skin in the game. The race will become real interesting when Hillary Clinton and Trump start going at each other. Then we'll see how many Reps. vote for Trump and even how many Dems vote for Trump.
