I'm a realist. There's a better than good chance that Trump will get the delegates for the nomination and therefore hand the election to Hillary...but, hope can spring eternal even in the darkest night.

Which is too bad because I find Cruz somewhat more trustworthy and likeable than Mrs. Clinton even if I agree on his policies less. I think a Hillary/Cruz matchup would be closer than some people are comfortable with.

oh, one has utterly no idea what the 'other' GOP candidate really supports, or even understands at a Junior High school level. Also, the Dems push their favorite bits of the document, and overlook others, but at least accept the evolutionary aspects built in. Without that give and take, you end up,essentially, bound to a set of rules that simply won't work in the 21st century. There is much debate over whether the founders sort of intended the thing to become outmoded and subject to revisiting the whole Constitution over time. Jefferson surely saw it that way, it is unclear how many others agreed with him.

I personally don't give a rat's ass what the founding fathers thought. The Constitution is an agreement between the government and it's populace and needs to change as the people change, according to their values, beliefs, and what we learn about the world around us. The founders did their best at the time but could not imagine the world of today, nor see all the successes and shortcomings of the document they penned.

I finally got what you meant after watching the news last night. I didn't know Boehner had the balls. Cruz has burned every bridge on the road to making the tea party happy.

Speaking of reality, Trump is making Hillary look downright sane. Why Republicans keep feeding us that same tired old tax cut trickle down economics line that hasn't ever worked, I don't know. They must think we're all saps ripe for the plucking.
