As we approach the Indiana primary next Tuesday, it appears that we are also approaching the moment of truth for Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, and the Republican Party. And not surprisingly, that party appears ready to once again shoot itself in the foot, as it did in 1996, 2000, 2008, and 2012.
Polls show that the race is very tight, though the momentum seems to be favoring Donald Trump.
Meanwhile, national polls as well as the analysis of most political insiders say that Trump will lose to Hillary Clinton in November, while those same polls and insiders say that Ted Cruz has a far better shot at winning the national election.
In other words, it looks like Republican voters are going to pick the weaker of the two candidates for their nominee.
Pretty dumb, eh? What makes it even dumber is that even the slightest honest appraisal of the political beliefs of Donald Trump quickly reveals himself to be a RINO, a liberal Democrat with many ties to the corrupt political establishments of both parties. In addition, his political positions both before and during the campaign have revealed himself repeatedly to be a liberal Democratic in all things except illegal immigration, and even here he has shown indications that he will go soft once in office.
as I noted after the International Policy speech, this is the first time I can remember the GOP candidate running to the left of the Democrat. Moreover, half of the GOP faithful apparently don't care. I guess the whole Conservative movement thing wasn't for them.

I read that Trump recently lifted parts of Sanders position on foreign policy for one of his own speeches in order to appeal to the Sanders supporters.

I think Sander's supporters are more intelligent than to believe any BS that a pandering Trump will ever spout.

I'm ashamed to admit that quite a few "republican" voters have fallen for his ugly demagoguery (and some of the worst kind of crap spouting from his ugly orange maw.)

And Sanders the socialist is capitalizing on the naive youth, just like they did in Russia, and here in this country during the sixties.
That speech he gave in front to that closed factory was the last straw for me.

Oh good, maybe you can tell us more about the evils of socialism? Maybe he appeals to the youth because they have the most vented interest in our country's future and Sanders isn't out of touch like the rest of the candidates?
No I won’t tell you the evils of socialism, but I will tell you about a lying politician.
Sanders gives a speech out front of a closed business saying things like “stop the greed” and “stop destroying the middle class” but I have to ask you, did the man do any homework on which businesses are actually driven by greed as compared to need? I think not.
The man has the public’s ear, but will he stand up and tell the truth…why doesn’t he tell the story of how the big box retailers literally drove many manufacturers overseas by blackmailing and threatening them if they didn’t lower their prices their products would be removed from the shelves. (historical fact)
Why doesn’t he tell the story of how the merchant class along with the uneducated consumer sold this country down the river without a paddle.
He has the chance to tell the truth and actually do some good, but chooses to follow a political agenda instead. And that agenda is socialism.
IIRC, Spidey has repeatedly and publicly demonstrated a tendency towards fascism.
P.S. You've never lived in socialism, you absolutely do not understand this, except distorted paid or forcibly information attacks on your brain. The socialist system is a kind of Paradise on Earth, you will be able to understand it only when you return back to capitalism.

Right, because any example given of successful socialism is not "true" socialism in your eyes, it's only true socialism if the country is failing. So wise! News Flash: It doesn't work that way.

Give me an example of a working socialist “economy” at the national level, you can go back as far as you wish.

Ok, I admit to that, but what people have done is widen the definition of socialism to the point of becoming meaningless.
Yea, you can have 57 varieties of ketchup, but you can’t point to mustard and say “ketchup” just because you want it to be.

It's hilarious talking to you about this because you clearly have no idea what you are talking about. If Canada and Scandinavian countries identify as "socialist" well guess what? They are socialist. This is the position they inform their decisions by. It doesn't matter how many different kinds of socialism there are because there has never been (ever) a solitary definition of it. You are trying to cram your bull★■◆● ideas of what socialism is into something you can point at and look down on, and frankly you look like an idiot while doing it.
Something just occurred to me…you are doing exactly what you are accusing me of…defining capitalism in a way that lets you then go ahead and look down on it.

Good luck finding an example of me saying capitalism doesn't work. The difference between you and I is I can definitely point to things about capitalism that are fundamentally flawed unlike you and your mysterious and yet unheard wisdom about socialism.

No, Woodchip, you can't understand and I cannot explain it. I know that this is hard for you to imagine, but happiness is not the same as a million dollars.
Well yea, I have to admit to a disadvantage making a consistent argument against a basic classic definition of socialism, and you get to defend socialism using a nebulous non definition.

Really? I must remind you peeps here thought I was batty a year ago when Trump first entered the race and I said he would be our next president. And now you think I lost my mind but you speak with no understanding og the political climate in this country:

I think TB you need to stop listening to the elitist nay sayers and start listening to the voters.
So you'd pick a completely unqualified reality show star and real estate scammer over someone that knows all the issues, has multidimensional foreign, domestic and legislative policy qualifications as a conservative...
A guy that has a proven record of standing against his own party when they don't uphold conservative values..simply because Trump said he'd build a wall?
You trust a man that's always been a democrat his entire life up until a few months ago over one statement- when he's been known to flip his policy positions over the course of a single conversation?
Yes, you've lost your mind.

However you want to frame it, Cruz is a loser. I want someone who is not part of the establishment and not another tired old politician. I suggest you wake up and smell reality. Trump will get the GOP nomination and win the presidential election. This is not 8 months ago.

ah, we still think you're nuttier than grandma's fruitcake recipe, but I for one will give you props for the Trump call. I am, to this moment, astounded at how lightly the GOP field took him, and hope that the Dems don't dismiss him so lightly, or take the smug superiority route, either.
The other part that I didn't see was that the networks(all of them) would literally give him HOURS of free air time.

Slick, I think many will agree, these people have to leave, because they are living memories of 1962. Today the situation is no better, the US continues to put pressure on Russia in the style of the 20th century and NATO continue with zeal idiots be closer to our borders. And this is particularly admirable, because they know that to run the complete destruction of the United States need 15 minutes.
had a fun conversation the other night with my old pal, and longtime GOP funder and player from the Gulf region. He's trying to sell me on the idea that maybe Biden and Kasich can run for the 'good of the nation'.

Spidey wrote:Yea, we can start with Bernie Sanders.
Like it or not Spidey, Sanders is picking up on voter anger just like Trump. Unlike Trump, Sanders is attracting young people, who DO have a reason to be ticked off and ARE the up and coming force of voters that will have to be reckoned with by every politician in the future. They can't afford a house and they can't afford a college education and the American dream is looking more like a pipe dream. So what do Trump's angry old white guys have to be ticked off about? The fact a black man president didn't make their country great just for them again? That ship has long since sailed.
