Either you know something about them or you don't, and last I heard they weren't being screened by the countries letting them in. It's all very well to hope, but it's not very prudent.

Spidey, I don't see Canada(or the US) having to integrate the sheer numbers of foreigners who have come to Europe in a series of waves, first enticed by available labor, later by those fleeing oppressive conditions. Thus, it should be far easier to avoid the mistakes of Europe.

We have a pretty efficient screening process. Everything you've heard is wrong. And hope isn't really a factor here, seeing as the chance to do something was there, but they didn't do anything but help others.
