And in opposition, here's a reddit forum exploring why poor dumb blacks vote democratic:

Liberal speak: "Convenience for you means control for him, free and the price is astronomical, you're the product for sale". Neil Oliver

Leftist are Evil, and Liberals keep voting for them. Dennis Prager

A mouse might be in a cookie jar.... but he is not a cookie" ... Casper Ten Boom

And because you didn't read Slick's article you don't know that this Reddit post is not in opposition and in fact confirms OP.

I'd say that slick's link writer is spot on. Good for her. She appears to be a keen observer and since she was in a bunch of telling and close situations to actually see what was going on in life for many poor Americans, I trust her observations. I'd say she's pretty damn perceptive.

I also have one issue with woody's counter link calling most people who vote for Democrats as "dumb". That kind of labels the writer as a closed minded person just with that single statement alone. I'm a college educated person and I have a degree. I don't consider myself "dumb" having made it through 4 years of college and I lean liberal despite my education. To label all Democrats as "dumb" is yet another idiotic broad brush stroke painted on all liberals by conservatives who don't know squat about what they're talking about and can't think of anything more intelligent to say about a political ideology that they totally revile and refuse to work with. That's what bullies do, call people names because they can't think of any cogent counter arguments that make any sense, other than everything liberal is nothing but a plot to screw over hard working people. Sounds just like what that supposed conservative representative, Donald Trump, spouts all the time, when in reality, he's the one doing the screwing.

TC, on behalf of conservatives, I apologize. Liberalism is a production line turning out fancy nonsense at an incredible rate, and it can be a real challenge for conservative apologists to gracefully handle the volume.

My god…all of that for a simple Sanders endorsement…sheesh…

Yea, I have heard that theory before.

I would correct so much of what she said and left out (such as the comment by Johnson about the you know who’s will be voting for us for a hundred years) but I just don’t give a ★■◆● any more.

as I noted, it's an interesting read. There are some inaccuracies, at least some I know from study of early colonial history(her oversimplification of how black slaves became dominant sticks out to me), but her overall arc is sound. Yes, as noted above, Woody clearly didn't read my article, merely tossed out an ideological ax-to-grind piece. Oh, and those 'dumb' Democrat voters. By far, folks with advanced degrees(MS, PhD, MD, law degrees, divinity degrees, etc) vote Democratic. Thus, the writer of Woody's piece exposes their prejudice from the get-go.

And my reply is that conservatives carry around such a large, heavy load of hubris that when they fall over, they destroy the economy and then blame liberals for causing them to fall on their faces in the first place. :twisted2:

I was watching one of those "man on the street" local interviews on the local TV news yesterday morning. The reporter asks the man about Sanders, since it appears that Sanders may win the Oregon Dem primary. The man replies that he's a conservative and that the idea of Socialism abhors him and would never vote for Sanders and that Trump is his man. The reporter then asks the man if he knows the definition of Socialism. The man stammers and can't answer the question in any coherent fashion. The reporter then asks the man to define "Democracy". The man then proceeds to give, almost verbatim, a Sanders rally speech in response. Uh huh.

I'm pretty sure destroying the economy was a cooperative effort, but it certain wasn't done according to conservative principles. ;)

It was a cooperative effort, I'll admit. But don't lay out those "conservative principles" as all apple pie, never wrong and an ideal that never screws economies up either. George W. Bush's 2 illegal and unfunded wars come to mind.
