Well, TBH, and even if I'm not a constant visitor of E&C, I've also noticed that Woodie always shoves his political views or agenda in our faces through his user images, and it feels a bit 'uncomfortable' while browsing an (apparently) innocent gaming forum, but he should have his reasons.

It doesn't. This is someone with admin ability singling woody out for what amounts to a public humiliation in retribution for Woody's political leanings.

Sure, this is a private establishment, and the site admins have the ability to arbitrarily do what they want. But generally organizations try to conduct themselves with at least the appearance of fairness, and there is absolutely none of that here. There is no rule that provides an animated image as a punishment that could be held up for a logical reason.

Here's the thing: site management and woody just had a maturity contest, and woody is the winner in this case.

Like I said above, there are much better solutions to getting rid of Woody's propaganda avatar that would be appropriate and honorable.

Now, whatever you do, don't get hung up on the "don't have to explain anything to anyone" bit. Just think back to whenever you discussed anything with a person who isn't a close friend or family. Did you catch yourself thinking "do I really owe this guy an explanation?"
