Smartest woman

Post by woodchip »

I have a hard time understanding how Hillary is labeled as smart. How many of you know that she failed her Washington DC bar exam. Doesn't sound like she's above intelligence if she couldn't pass her chosen profession's test. She did pass the Arkansas bar but Perhaps the redneck state bar was easier.

Heck, my stepfather failed his first attempt at the bar exam. It's a tough test depending on which state you take it in. He did pass the second time though and went on to be a successful lawyer.

As for Hillary, it's true she failed the Washington D.C. bar, but there may have been extenuating reasons. I guess we'll never know if she would have passed it a second time because she never tried. In fact, a large percentage of law students typically fail the bar exam the first time, so she's not the exception. But she did pass it in Arkansas, redneck (your word) or not.

So do you think Trump, a man who has never studied law, nor even tried to pass the bar exam, is more qualified as presidential candidate? I don't think he even has the smarts or fortitude to study and pass a bar exam. His economic degree clearly didn't help him keep his business ventures robust and out of bankruptcy.

snopes.com wrote:In their book HRC: State Secrets and the Rebirth of Hillary Clinton, authors Jonathan Allen and Amie Parnes theorized that one of the factors behind Hillary's failure to pass the Washington bar might have been her having taken a preparatory bar study class with an instructor who was not up-to-date on the material included in the exam:

Even one of the most embarrassing episodes of Hillary's young life, when she failed the Washington, D.C., bar exam, didn't appear to result from a lack of discipline. She enrolled in a bar study class with a professor, Joseph Nacrelli, who had a reputation for knowing every nook and cranny of the D.C. test. But in 1973 the exam was in its second year of including a multistate portion that tested more generally on American law rather than just city-specific questions. Hearing the professor lecture on a topic they knew well, some of the students in the class determined that portions of the material he was teaching were wrong. Those students panicked because the bar would test them on subjects they hadn't taken in law school. So they began to study those subjects independently, in addition to continuing the class, and they passed. It's hard to know whether Hillary failed because she studied the wrong information — some of those who relied solely on the class made the grade.

a friend of mine, who passed last year, failed the bar on the first try in NC, and eventually argued two cases before the SCOTUS. Anyone who spent any time in any higher education setting realizes there are the truly intellectual, and there are the test aces. Those two groups do not always overlap at all. I was far more one of the latter, as I found it a challenge to outwit an exam.
Also, anyone who doubts Ms Clinton's intelligence fars fall short on the grey matter scale, and there is NO other acceptable explanation.

Sounds like if she had any real smarts she would of followed the lead of those students who studied subjects independently. I mean, how bright can you be to set up a independent server in your basement (thereby setting yourself up for what followed) but not bright enough to take independent classes. Yeah slick, she has a lot of grey matter.

That's not a lack of smarts, that's a lack of judgement.

Spoken like someone with no experience in these matters. Not passing means nothing. As I've mentioned before more than half my friends are lawyers and about half of them didn't pass the first time, and some took it a third time. None of them are stupid people. One friend here in California not only got a full paid scholarship for law school, she was also the head of Bar Review. She's probably the smartest person I know. She didn't pass the first time.

Fun story about corruption in the Bar Association: A friend of mine in Chicago had to take the Bar a third time and became suspicious about the exam after failing twice. Thinking he had nothing to lose, the sabotaged some of his answers in the third exam, writing nonsense. He passed. Later, he questioned the Bar committee about their practices and revealed what he had done. The proof was there and they were caught with their pants down. As it turns out they we just passing people based on a random selection of answers. Basically, because of the sheer amount of work it takes to grade this stuff, Bar members don't do a thorough job and are left to make guesses. The Bar Association is really a bull★■◆● racket to make money.

Try passing the California Bar. Half don't. It isn't a measure of stupidity.

Well, Trump is sorely lacking in the judgement department too. He's had his businesses go bankrupt several times, while he was at the helm, and has encouraged a hostile foreign power to hack the computers of a national political party to search for lost emails. So he's a failed businessman and a traitor, at best.
