Power outage broke my spaceship.

D3 was open with ShadowPlay when power went out.
The launcher opens but when I press play, system goes to black screen with cursor.
The Windows Key brings up the Start menu and taskbar but no Desktop.
On the taskbar there are two stacked Descent Icons. 1. Descent3 (black screen) 2. Descent3 Error
(Error: Your pilot file is too old Delete and create a new one)
The OK on the Error message is not clickable because message is not persistent.
Left click of either goes to Black Screen
Right click brings up 3 options
Main = an additional Error message
Pin to taskbar
close all windows= goes to the Desktop
From Black Screen Click Windows Key to get to Desktop

This installation is the package from Dateiliste which is not accessible from the Bookmarks I have.

Browse in file explorer to your descent 3 folder, delete all the pilot files (*.plt) to the recycle bin and try running the game again. Also run a disk check on the drive descent 3 is stored on (you will have to schedule a check for the next reboot if it is on the C: drive).
