...I'd love to speak with him about the Union Leader endorsement. He'd have been proud, I suspect, and long before this point would have eviscerated Trump. I was fortunate enough to exchange a few letters with the old guy. We never really agreed on much past the beauty of the New Hampshire mountains, and maybe the Red Sox. We met on opposite sides of a battle over putting an oil refinery in Great Bay. He lost that one. He was a pillar of classic American conservatism, as pro-capitalist and free-market, small government as one could be. His paper had endorsed a Republican in every election since 1912 or 1916.
