Religious Persecution?

Post by Ferno »

Not quite what you think.

It's in regard to a non-religious group's billboard sign being taken down in about a week. And after this reaction, I don't think anyone in Lincoln, Nebraska can claim they're being persecuted.

I'll bet the same thing would have happened to a group of socialists if they'd put up a billboard touting the purported virtues of Socialism over Capitalism. Americans love free speech, but only when it applies to what they want to hear or think is normal and proper. Heaven forbid that Atheists have a place in America, let alone a little non-hate free speech.

I see it all the time. If you worship some kind of god.. allah, bhudda, jesus, ganesh... you might get a bit of flak, but not much. But as soon as you say that you believe in no god, people look at and treat you like you've just grown a second head.

Atheists are like Christians. They just believe in one less god.
