Well my reply is a pro/con to slicks OP. The con is the wagon might hold us but isn't and the start to some kind of real space engine is in the works:

I think one has to take with a grain of salt, when a expert says something is impossible. I have to wonder how many other impossible things are waiting to be discovered. And yes, the linked engine is truly a amazing item. Could open up the exploration and colonization of the solar system.
