If there were a hell, I would have wished this bastard burned in it for eternity.

I'll just have to settle for him being worm food.

that murderous tyrant gave his nation a sense of national identity, developed what is arguably the most efficient high quality healthcare delivery system on the planet, and replaced a brutal military dictator who pillaged the common man to enrich a few. Is Castro perfect? Hell no, but I ask again, are you aware of what he replaced?

The insanity of the left.

Seriously Slick. I have to say it. ¡Vete a chingar tu madre pendejo!

This murderous piece of ★■◆● deserved death for decades. I guess you'd celebrate Pol Pot "because he built wonderful bamboo bridges (with slave labor)" if he had replaced Hitler.

I thought neocon foreign policy was the worst thing ever and would start world war 3 / rapture / apocalypse / etc.

Oh wait, that's only if a democrat is the neocon. My mistake. Carry on...

hilarious in its black and white thinking and false analogies. "If he'd replaced Hitler"? And, you expect to be taken seriously? As I said, Castro, like every soul on the planet, was complex, but the final judgement will be that of the overall populace of the nation of Cuba. I stand by my opinion that he was preferable to the predecessors, and half the hardships his people endured were due to the economic restrictions placed upon the country by the US. Lotta good that did, huh?

Too bad you didn't listen to NPR this morn or you would of learned the much vaunted Cuban health system lasted only as long as the old Soviet Unions subsidies did. With the collapse of the USSR, the subsidies ended and so did the Cuban Health system.
At least while Batista was in power you could always buy a ticked out of the country. Under Castro you had to paddle your way out. Oh and lets not forget the hundreds of thousands Castro locked up as political prisoners.

When a piece of ★■◆● dies, it’s a good thing…doesn’t matter what it replaced, it’s a stand alone.

I really can’t understand this “well they were worse, or they did the same thing” to justify something, but some people sure do have a bad case of it.

People need to be judged against a standard, not other people’s actions…as I have said before…try that in court.

“Well that guy murdered three people, I only raped one girl”.

Maybe we'll soon be in Russia's position and not know what going on in our own country either. The voters went ahead and just elected an autocrat along the same vein as Putin to run our own country.

Obama sure aspired to be an autocrat himself TC. Don't you forget his imperial decrees in the form of his pen and phone that he was so proud to wield.

Thankfully, the supreme court wasn't in his pocket and ruled his amnesty executive order as unconstitutional.

That being said...many more of his imperial executive orders still stand today.

And from one of my favorite bloggers (a Russian ex-pat himself)
WNU Editor: I have been to Cuba .... for both business and pleasure .... and my parents were regular visitors over the years as tourists. Over the years my impressions of Cuba have not changed .... it is a terribly poor country with limited opportunity .... and even though the Castro regime and their allies in the West were always boasting of their great achievements .... particularly on education and healthcare .... I have seen both up close .... and I will put it bluntly .... it is nothing to be boastful about .... a fact that many Cubans ... particularly the young .... have long realized. But with the Castro brothers alive and in power .... any hope of change was never realistically in the cards. That is why the death of Fidel Castro and the approaching retirement of his brother is a pivotal moment .... but for now I just do not see any change happening soon. The 1% who rule and run the nation do not want to lose their power and privilege, and there is no leader within the Communist regime who has the stomach to initiate any real change or progress. But change is coming, and IMHO it will be coming from primarily three sources. One .... the massive influx of American tourists .... primarily Cuban Americans who can speak the language and who have an affinity to Cuba. This alone will help to change the cultural mindset of many Cubans that there is a better life that they should be entitled to .... hence expect the pressure on the Cuban government .... especially on the street and local level .... to intensify . Two .... media .... primarily social media .... will influence the future leaders of Cuba. While Cuba's internet and communications networks are still limited, tightly controlled, and regulated .... these barriers are slowly coming down .... and once the cell companies move in and cell phones become as popular in Cuba as in the rest of the world .... watch-out. Three .... Cuban parents are fed up that their children .... at great risk to their lives .... fleeing the country for a better life. What will keep these kids home is the hope that a better life is around the corner .... and the death of Fidel Castro is now giving that hope. Break that hope .... again .... the Cuban government better watch-out.

Are you sure? Trump has never released his tax returns and I'm guessing he never will, nor does he seem intent on divesting himself of his huge business empire (there's no law that says he has to so either). So we lowly plebes we'll never really know what business dealings he has, or will have in the future, with foreign countries (some considered hostile to the U.S. even), that could potentially benefit himself personally, or his cronies. Remember, he was elected to serve the people as our president. He was not elected to enrich his business empire to the people's detriment. Time will tell, won't it? Since he seems so secretive, it'll take much more than asking him or taking him at his word I'm guessing. If he goes after the press or tries to restrict it as president, we'll know he's vying for absolute power.

Before you get too busy celebrating the death of another villain dictator, remember that ISIS would have never happened if Saddam was still in power.

ISIS would of never happened either if Dear Leader was able to negotiate a status of forces agreement . How many people can hold a purple stained finger up in Cuba?

No sigma. ISIS headquarters are in Turkey and Saudi Arabia (and a few of the other gulf states.)

The US just happens to be 'allies' with Turkey and Saudi Arabia.

I sincerely hope Trump breaks ties with those tyrants.

In my opinion, it does not need to be a prophet to understand that Turkey would never have dared to shoot down Russian bomber without USA support.
