Change of heart?
Hypothetically, I wonder what would happen in this country if 37 electors had a crisis of conscience on December 19th?

won't happen unless there is some clear, presented Constitutional issue. I don't see that happening. As noted by the Federal Court decision in Colorado, if a state has laws binding electors to the outcome, they cannot, by law, change. Wishful thinking. Folks had the chance on November 9, and we deal with it from there.

You don't think the intervention in our national election by a foreign government, Russia, constitutes a Constitutional issue? Just sayin'.

oh, I do, but I put the qualifier word 'presented' in there. In other words, mere rumors won't cut it, but if the whole of the electors were presented a compelling set of evidence that makes it seem likely that such intervention occurred, they would be in the situation described in the Federalist Papers as a rationale for having the Electoral College in the first place.tunnelcat wrote:You don't think the intervention in our national election by a foreign government, Russia, constitutes a Constitutional issue? You should not care about Russia. Russia will be able to take care of herself.

as if other things haven't been cause for intelligent humans to have at least some pause. The fact that this video shows our new Secretary of Energy(in charge of nuclear power, and regulation of nuclear materials, among many other complex issues) at work should push anyone over the cliff:

oh, and in case some feeble apologist wishes to come along and say,"Slick is picking a celebrity appearance on TV", may I remind you, this dolt has proven himself to be a drooling idiot at virtually every step of TWO Presidential campaigns. So, yes, I picked a humorous clip, with a bit less irony than when he was onstage forgetting which departments of the federal government he wanted to eliminate.

Re: Change of heart?
I guess conservatives should launch an elector-flipping campaign the next time a dangerous left wing presidential candidate wins as well.

if that candidate is truly dangerous, or involved with a foreign power, that is their obligation.
