VA Report

Post by woodchip »

After reading about all the dismal incidents of the VA hosp/ treating patients, it was with some trepidation that I signed up for my benefits at the Ann Arbor VA Hosp. Only reason I did was the cost of Entocort (any with experience with this drug feel free to comment) to the tune of 400+ dollars a month. Sat I got set up with my contact doctor and right off I wass impressed with her thoroughness in getting my initial info entered into the system. By the time I was done she had me take a flu shot, a pneumonia shot and she thought she detected a irregular heartbeat so she had me take a EKG (turned out to be minor). If I would of went to my GP I would of had to get a separate appointment for those items.

Hosp. was spotless, and my previous trips there to get sign up paperwork submitted was done with no lines and I was in and out. The one thing I noticed right off was instead of a antiseptic odor, a nice coffee smell permeated the main floor I was on. I was impressed that they had doctors on duty on a Saturday. If any of you are a vet I suggest you try for a Sat. appointment as no one was there. The check out clerk and I chatted a bit and he showed me pics of him in Afghanistan next to a shot up shell of a cargo plane. He said the Ann Arbor VA was one of the better VA Hosp. in the country. Seems everyone I met there was a vet, as such I kinda felt like I was back with my military buddies. Guess I'm kinda wierd huh.

good to hear your experience was a good one. Nephew generally speaks well of the Delaware facility.

Sounds a lot nicer than my personal doctor's grungy private office.
