Russian mouthpiece Breitbart

.....turns the propagana weapons on Germany now. Is there any doubt they purposely flooded the US with bogus propaganda so that Trump could eke out a victory?

Not to derail the thread, but this also goes along the lines of what a manipulating autocrat like Trump will be like as our president. The attacks on the U.S. press are just beginning, specifically NBC and MSNBC, even though it was the Washington Post who was the first to report the details about that leaked intel briefing a day before Trump actually got to listen to it. The very network who skewers Trump constantly on SNL, which must really stick in his craw, so he's out attacking a town messenger he hates and not bothering to look for the origin of the leak. None of what the Post or NBC got was classified either. I'm sure that there are a few ticked off people in our intelligence services who are taking some exception to Trump's Putin schmoozing and perhaps are trying to the screws to him behind the scenes. Never piss off the CIA, even if you're president.

It really is amusing to see the party that has always been all RAWR COMMUNISM turning into a quivering pile of jelly at the mere thought of taking Russia to task for election interference.

"Russia" may have hacked our systems...but how has that changed over the years? Everyone hacks everyone else's computers.

It didn't become a national security concern at all- since the Obama administration didn't seem to care...that is, UNTIL the DNC's dirty laundry came to light.

Suddenly it's an 'act of war.'

Russia can do whatever she wants, but maybe no special need to provoke further? Currently, the United States more like clown and not serious partners. Maybe Donald trump will be able to change the American ideology that actually had to stay in the 20th century. Joint economic projects, here's what us need. Although it because I'm such a positive and tolerant to the Americans, while the other Russians will apply to Americans sometimes very, very differently.
We need to do something, so we can live in harmony and peace, that all was well. And a complete ★■◆●ing for everyone on the planet can be done in less than 10 minutes.

And if Clinton won would you be posting how the Clinton foundation accepted money from govt officials that condone female genital mutilation or treat the female as a second class citizen? I suspect not.

Russia has a lot quite of smart people. You never see them in the media. I talked with them, it's terribly clever people, I'm a pathetic kitten compared to them.

Don't ignore that the Republicans seem to have lost all integrity once they got control of the WHOLE candy store. In order to hold their noses and support their elected madman of an autocrat who's going against almost everything they've ever stood for in the past, they're having to twist themselves into monumental pretzels to ignore, or approve of, what Trump is doing or proposing once he's president. The ONLY 2 Republicans I've seen willing to come out and voice their concerns about Trump's connections to Russia and the outright disdain for our intelligence services are McCain and Graham. At least they're sticking to form. Most of the rest have become nothing slobbering butt kissing yes men in order to suck up to Trump.

Yes, the two remaining warmongering neocons.

Again I say- where was all of this "concern" when millions of government workers' vital personal data was STOLEN over a year ago?

You remember that story, right?

Chinese hackers are suspected of carrying out a "massive breach" of the personal data of nearly four million US government workers, officials said.

The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) confirmed that both current and past employees had been affected.

The breach could potentially affect every federal agency, officials said.

US officials said the hackers were believed to be based in China. Beijing responded by calling such claims "irresponsible".
Where was the "act of war" talk back then? Nothing... *crickets*

Oh- but now the DNC's e-mails were "hacked" by Russia- it's WAR.

Gee...that private server doesn't seem to have been such a great idea now, right?

You really can't see the difference between a breach of HR personnel files and an attempt to directly interfere in the US electoral process?
woodchip wrote:I think this headline pretty much sums things up:

Ah right, the individual who's actively hiding his massive financial ties to Russia labels the rest of the world "fools" for questioning his motivations.

So personal information theft that could be used as ID theft, fake credential creation and access to ANY part of government including the most sensitive military secrets, essential infrastructure and/or future use for blackmail isn't an 'act of war?'

I can see the difference, but I can also see the political slant here, considering that both events are very serious.

Please, as little as possible mention of the Germans. I understand it all. Despite the fact that it took 76 years after the war, despite the fact that my friends are some German pilots of the charter of the European Aviation. But whenever possible, I kill a German, just because he is German. Once there was a possibility, but I do not even know why I regretted him. ★■◆●

sigma, I think that picture slick posted is exactly what Putin is thinking. Why else would a smart autocratic leader like Putin want to build a relationship with an idiot, clueless, thin-skinned businessman like Donald Trump if it wasn't for the greater purpose of furthering Russia's status in the world? Trump will make that all too easy for Putin and Putin would have to be a clueless idiot to not take advantage of the situation.

don't know, TC, if you've ever had the chance to see how the OG's operate, but Putin/Trump is just the same relationship as a mob crew boss and a guy in hock to the books. They'll tell him to jump, he'll either ask 'how high', or the game gets ugly for him, fast.

Putin used to be in the KGB. He's got the smarts and the know-how. He's cagey. Trump's nothing but coddled businessman who has absolutely no idea about how the spook world and international foreign relations work. In fact, he's at odds with our own intelligence agencies and he isn't even president yet. All he knows is how to make a deal and look great at it. If he doesn't have the full picture, which he doesn't and he won't, he's going to get pwnd.

Except that Obama didn't demonstrate any inherent unfitness for office outside the minds of conspiracy nuts and/or orange-haired idiots. He displayed no staggering influence of the niceties of international relations, freely shared his financial obligations, and didn't appoint incompetents hell-bent on dismantling the very departments they will oversee. I'm seriously counting down the months until he bumbles his way into something so blatantly illegal that even the sackless kowtowing Republicans in Congress will have no choice but to move for his removal from office.
