WE did this heinous evil on our own volition, just to run an economy and make scads of money and we did it all by forcing a whole other race of people to leave their homeland, suffer horrible living and working conditions or even death and all without any of the economic benefits that were afforded their masters, white Europeans and Americans. Nope, and as I've surmised, anyone trying to grab that cat without wearing Kevlar gloves and full body armor would be in for a hell of a shredding. I've tried to pick up frightened cats before (I'm an idiot) and they sometimes take extreme exception to your idea of "help".

I've just plain turned off the TV, probably for days at this rate. It's nothing but wall to wall coverage of Irma. The networks even dragged in their A listers to sit there for 24/7 and pontificate about nothing but gloom and doom and about how everyone should leave the area, except all those stupid reporters standing or falling in the middle of all that mess of course. It's like the rest of the country and the world don't even exist. Trump could fire Mueller or start WWIII with NK and no one would know for days. However, I will be fasinated to see whether 9/11 coverage or Irma takes over the new cycle tomorrow. What a choice. Stupid east coast-centric news media.

Well, covering the disaster is fine. It's a sad thing to have happen and people need to know what's going on. However, wallpapering over every news show to the exclusion of everything else that's going on in the world with a bunch of pompous jerks standing right in the middle the storm telling us stuff we've already heard ad infinitum and acting like they're riding a carnival ride is ridiculous and morbid. They're only doing it because they think it gets them ratings, not for any kind of altruistic reasons. And yes, I've actually been through a hurricane, a destructive hailstorm and several large earthquakes, all with property damage. The press looming around like vultures is not being respectful or helpful to the victims at all. You'll also notice that the recent 8.1 megaquake in Mexico hardly garnered any media attention. Why? Because it was in Mexico, not in New York or Florida where the stupid press lives.

No, I just ★■◆● when I'm constantly spoon fed the same thing 24/7 on almost every news channel the cable company sells me. I mean, it's not like there's the rest of the world, or even the rest of the country, I need to know about. Sure, I could sift through all the chaff on the internet, but sometimes I like to just sit back and watch a curated news show that contains a little variety. But hey, with the media all based on the East Coast, it seems we get stuck with their self-important localized bull★■◆● even though a lot of us don't live anywhere near there. All I have to say is ★■◆● the New York media and the high horse they rode in on.
