Yes, communism is mostly dead. It failed for the same reason Capitalism will probably falter, greed, abuse and concentration of power and a distinct lack of caring for society's wants and needs in general. Our next Great Depression, and we WILL have one the way things are heading, will show you the inherent weaknesses of a totally free-market system, a system that eschews anything that supports the social good and instead encourages, in fact REQUIRES, constant growth to flourish, so that any wealth production is guaranteed to be concentrated in the hands of a few, powerful, greedy, out of touch families. This Depression will be worse than the last one for most people in the U.S., because the corporations and are now global, so they don't give a rat's ass about U.S. exceptionalism or national pride, so when this country goes down the toilet, they'll just move on to another country and rape them.
