So I have a fresh install of Win 10 since I upgraded my PC in Jan. My problem is it won't go to sleep. This happened after I did the install, then once it update with the SP, it worked. Then it stopped working a wee or so ago. Then I fixed it by disabling Media Streaming services and it would go to sleep like the power profile was setup. Now it has stopped going to sleep again and no matter what I Google, I can't find any NEW information about it.
Any ideas?

So you go Power->Sleep and it does nothing?

Re: Win 10 issues
fliptw, I believe he's referring to a known issue with sleep timers failing to put the machine to sleep.
I had the same issue with a clean Win10 install as well. As I recall, the problem turned out to be related to a nightly backup service that I was running, but I don't remember any of the details, I'm sorry.

Re: Win 10 issues
Foil has it. It's just not going to sleep. I've read that it could be related to a USB joystick but haven't tested removing it. Kinda a pain since my stick is connecting at the back of the case and not the front.
I also have 2 external drives plugged via USB, my mouse also.

Re: Win 10 issues
give "powercfg lastwake" a spin in command prompt, after you try sleeping your computer.

Re: Win 10 issues
My system normally boots within 10 seconds but I prefer leaving it on. Also, during the day my wife uses it so turning it on/off constantly if a pain. I'll try what you suggest and I may even fiddle more with it to see if I can get it going.

Re: Win 10 issues
So I know this is an old post but my problem has crept up again. It seems that all runs fine until I do an update. I believe it started happening again with the last GeForce drivers but not 100% sure. I've googles the crap out of this issue and tried every suggestion available to man. It's frustrating to say the least. Not sure if anyone else has tips on how to get my PC to go back to sleep again.

Re: Win 10 issues
There are a bunch of reports you can generate from powercfg in administrator command prompt that can help you find out what is keeping a machine awake. Among them /SYSTEMSLEEPDIAGNOSTICS and /ENERGY can list processes that either consume a lot of power or are responsible for resetting the sleep timers.

Re: Win 10 issues
I've run a lot of these. Don't seem to tell me much of what is wrong.
This is the only error that could possibly affect sleep.
Platform Power Management Capabilities:PCI Express Active-State Power Management (ASPM) Disabled
PCI Express Active-State Power Management (ASPM) has been disabled due to a known incompatibility with the hardware in this computer.
But this shouldn't stop it. It worked before.
