Re: Border concentration camps...
No, we Americans usually settle for the more tasteful moniker, "internment camps".

Re: Border concentration camps...
No TC. An internment camp is not a concentration camp. Calling it that trivializes what a concentration camp is.

You know, you're right. Silly me.
Concentration Camp, according to Merriam Webster.
: a camp where persons (such as prisoners of war, political prisoners, or refugees) are detained or confined

Re: Border concentration camps...
Its missing: "primarily prisoners of war and political enemies; where the imprisoned participate in forced labour, starved; shot and hung".
You're cherrypicking, and you forgot your history lessons on WW2, TC.

Re: Border concentration camps...
I didn't write the definition, so yeah, it's lacking that little detail. Our nice little Japanese internment camps of WWII DID, however, make the Japanese perform a little forced labor on the side for the U.S. government. I guess we haven't resorted to making all those imprisoned immigrants work for their keep....yet. But I wouldn't put it past Trump and crew to dream it up.

I know you didnt. But when it comes to a comparison like this, those little details are extremely important.Tunnelcat wrote: ↑Tue Jul 10, 2018 1:35 pm I didn't write the definition, so yeah, it's lacking that little detail. I'm willing to bet that if Trump told his supporters at one of his "rallies" that shooting immigrants was the solution to our immigration crisis, they're just nutty enough to agree with him. I mean hell, they already believe Putin's a sweet guy who wouldn't hurt a fly.

And a few of them are crazy enough to actually do it.
