Where are all the joysticks?

Is it me or has there been a lack or a complete absence of all those advanced joysticks that used to exist like when Descent was popular? Last time I went to an electronics store I saw a lot of different mice and keyboards but I didn't notice any joysticks. Is playing computer games with a joystick a thing of the past?

I've seen a few joysticks at Fry's, mostly Logitech and Thrustmaster. I even splurged for the Thrustmaster HOTAS setup when I got some birthday money from my father last year. It wasn't cheap however. I do miss Saitek's selection though.
