It's a opinion piece from a liberal Trump hating rag

Opinion pieces are as American as apple pie, buying your snot nosed prick children $8,756 worth of useless plastic when Jesus was born in April, and pretending you’re not an alcoholic when you’re hammered on a Sunday morning because NFL is on.

It’s clearly marked, noted as “opinion”. That’s legit. The problem now a days is “journalists” trying to play off an editorial as FACT.

Nothing wrong with an opinion piece at all. It’s a writers point of view.

What, didn't say opinions are not legit when written as such. Just pointing out it was from a liberal source just as others have pointed out sources as being conservative like Breitbart and thus ridiculed

Remember when woodchip railed against President Obama because he wasn't tough on Syria and Iran? And now Trump is handing Syria back Assad, Hezbollah, and ISIS... And Russia. Let's not forget how evil Mrs Clinton was for selling uranium to a Russian company.

If only he could have an objective set of principals...

Actually vision, it may surprise you that depending on how
trump handles the Kurd issue, it may be the one reason I vote against him in 2020...also depending who the dems nominate in the primaries. Are your views of me on the Trump issue somewhat changed now?

Certainly not the poison you suck up from CNN

Yes, thanks for that. I think we can both agree there was no "winning" in Syria when Obama was president and no real strategy possible while Trump is president. It's not clear if our presence there these past couple years has been ultimately helpful or hurtful and honestly the only reason I accept any US interaction there is for support of ethnic Kurds, though this is really a diplomatic problem, not a military one.

There is a lot we don't know about what's really going on in Syria. The only Syrians I know don't like Assad, but that's anecdotal.

Woody, even you should admit that what Trump has done is pretty boneheaded. Pulling out of a military operation on a whim without consulting anyone and in doing so, pissing off his national security advisor so bad that he quit in protest. The timing of this little "decision" by Trump is just too coincidental to the results of the most recent investigative court actions to be happenstance. Not just Mueller's investigation either, but the State of New York as well. Even if you only believe a third of what MSNBC or CNN reports, it's pretty damning for Trump. No, Trump woke up one morning, threw a tantrum and decided to toss a smoke bomb to take the minds of the press off of all those investigations, investigations that are now bearing fruit mind you.

So then Mattis gripes to the press about his differences with Trump and baby Trump goes on a twitter tirade because his little ego was hurt. Geezus! Trump on his own decides one morning to pull our troops out of their mission of killing ISIS in Syria, also claiming victory as the reason. Plus, he did this all on his own accord, without telling anyone beforehand and ignoring any and all military advice or warnings. Remember, Trump is a draft dodger who wiggled out of serving his country with that tired old lame excuse of bone spurs that a lot of other rich boys used back in day. This is the weasel bastard who's now running our military. So he either did this as a distraction, or out of stupidity, so neither scenario is charitable.

So I'm guessing that Trump just woke up one morning, angry at how close all those investigations are zeroing in on him and his kids and he decided to drop a press distraction bomb. No discussing this hasty decision with any knowledgeable military leaders. I can just imagine Trump thinking, "Dam, I'm the God of the U.S. and I can do whatever I want". Then to show us he's smart in this whole affair, Trump claims that Turkey, ie., Erdoğan the Tyrant, is going to finish off the rest of ISIS, which you know translates into killing every Kurd that Erdoğan can find. Meanwhile, ISIS oozes to some other location and Iran has a celebration because Trump just gave them more influence in the region. If this is how Trump treats our allies and gifts our enemies in the war against terrorism, no wonder Mattis left in protest and no wonder our allies are starting to shy away from anything to do with Trump. I'd think even YOU would see what a military blunder Trump has created in our fight against terrorism. The man is a class "A" idiot.

I haven't so much as tuned into CNN in like 15 years. And yet they're still a more reliable source than whatever swill you consume.

Likewise. I stopped watching CNN during the Iraq War. It's a garbage station. Same with all those left-leaning outlets like Salon and HuffPo. I like old-school "just the facts" reporting.

My dislike for Trump isn't the result of media bias, it's the actual things he says and does that make me think he's the worst president of my lifetime.

Bah humbug on them then. It bothers me that the words “conservative” and “liberal” get used as dirty words when they are NOT. “Liberal Democracy” doesn’t mean what a lot of people think it means. Unfortunately, political billboards and lawn signs seem to work which gives you a sense of the information parsing skills a lot of people use.

I mean people over use and incorrectly use the word “amazing”:
“This Starbucks Carmel decaf mocha with peppermint sprinkles is AMAZING!”

“No, you friggin drooling idiot. The northern lights are “amazing”. The Grand Canyon is “amazing”. A coffee drink isn’t “amazing”, it’s just really good.”

What gets me is how most Trump supporters continually ignore, or worse defend, the clearly blatant mistakes Trump makes as president, the constant overreach and abuse of power, the disdain for the rule of law and the vile tweets he spews during his morning tweeter tantrums whenever someone crosses him the day before and still think everything's just peachy in the White House. I'm even more astounded that the Republicans in Congress keep right on kissing his ass, although I have noticed a recent slip in their united wall of butt kissing with the Syria/Mattis debacle. I'm willing to wager that Trump will go down in history as the worst president in American history EVER. Trump even makes Nixon look like a small time hood and that's saying something.
