Trying to subvert our jurisprudence

Post by woodchip »

So when Mueller gave testimony he uttered one line that should chill you to the bones. Not that Trump was guilty of any crime. Quite the contrary. He said, "As such, the investigation "does not conclude that the President committed a crime"; however, "it also does not exonerate him",[25][26]"

So last I checked, all citizens, even Trump, are naturally presumed innocent. So is this how the legal system will work when the Dems get power?

The Republicans have already shown that we may as well not have a legal system when they have power. Do you have a problem with that?

Also what Muller said is completely factually correct. He did not draw any conclusions about whether Trump's actions rose to criminal levels, because he viewed that as outside the purview of the investigation. Tell me how this threatens due process again?

DING DING DING! Correct. This was an investigation to uncover evidence which must happen whether a person is guilty or innocent. That's what an investigation is. To discover wrongdoing. Did you not know this?

Uh news flash. Trump wasn't exonerated. He wasn't indicted because of the standing DOJ rule that a sitting president cannot be indicted. If he were a private citizen, he'd be prosecuted in a heartbeat.

Why would you think the President is treated the same as all citizens? He's obviously not. The Mueller Report quite plainly states how and why the President very specifically is being treated differently from all other citizens.

Presuming innocence can only exist in a legal realm where guilt can be charged.

Yeah, the only reason he NOT being indicted and thrown in prison is BECAUSE he's the damn president. The DOJ is protecting his ass.
