Indoor Wired Security Camera

Hi,

So I've looked but I can't seem to find something that I want.

I need a camera where I can use an SD card to record video constantly. Overwrite if required or I empty it on my PC.
1080P and night vision.

I currently have a small one that only records once it detects movement but it misses lots of things and it only records pictures.

This is to put in my living room window and record my parking lot so my car isn't touched, or if some other stuff happens.

Anyone have any recommendations?

I think there are some projects/apps out there that can convert an old android smartphone into a security camera which might be the least expensive option. Keep in mind recording to a SD/micro SD card will require a high endurance card and even that will eventually give out.

On my house I have an actual wired purpose built security camera system:


I have 3 cameras on mine, with an option for a 4th. The quality is okay. It gets a little smeary in low light and at night (automatically switches to IR night vision mode), but nothing works well in those conditions. It records at like 20 FPS, the 1 TB hard drive in mine keeps a rolling buffer of about 2-3 weeks depending on how often it is set off. It has motion detection, or you can throw in a bigger drive and just have it constantly record. The cameras are small and weather proof, but are obviously cameras and people will recognize them as such.

Krom, what camera do you use with that storage?

Mine are some older cameras that you could probably do better than these days. The unit connects to the cameras via network cables and also powers them that way, it uses a standard ONVIF IP protocol to communicate with them so a pack of cameras that support that and use power over ethernet should work.
