the ip for google.com is 216.239.37.99

yeah... you might want to check your hosts file, and do a check for any nasty spyware/trojans/virueses.

Defender, if I were you I'd get to scanning for spyware or any other type of infection.

As far as Mobius and the others go, enough with the damn browser war crap. Stop your trolling right now. If you can't bring yourself to post something meaningful in a thread, then just STFU. Any further browser war crap will be deleted on sight.

I apologize for my earlier idiocity.

Defender, if you need a spyware scanner, I'd recommend both Ad-Aware and Spybot: Search & Destroy. Used together, they'll catch any crap your system may have picked up.

Hey MD, you a$$, thanks for deleting the entirely helpful posts several of us posted.

Defender, if your hosts file contained what you posted earlier (which MD conveniently deleted) it's highly likely you got a trojan or virus somehow. I recommend you download the following:

1) antivirus software from grisoft.com
2) a firewall from either zonelabs.com or kerio.com (I tried the kerio one this morning and it looks pretty nice.)
3) Adaware and Spybot S&D (see above)

I also recommend that whatever web browser you're using, you keep patched and up to date.

Bite me Lothar. Its a side-effect of the split function.
